“I have been working my butt off to make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to me. I think as fighters we strive to grow and to be better and to never let the same thing happen twice. I’m a woman on a mission here. “(She laughs)
“I guess I have always found motivation off of people thinking that I can’t or shouldn’t do something. It is one of those things that I have become used to. You know a lot of people don’t think I am going to be able to do, what I am going to do. But also those people that doubt me are the people who have not gotten into the octagon themselves. They don’t understand what it takes to be a fighter and I think most of them, if they were, would have tapped out the first time Rhonda had them/me in an armbar. But you know I didn’t. I am a different kind of person. I am a different kind of breed. Most people can’t relate. They can’t understand the things that I am willing to put myself through to win this fight. And they can’t comprehend it. So I think their mind is on a more simplistic level, and much less: I don’t think any of those people would be willing to fight Rhonda again if they were in my shoes. They would have been like- no I just lost; I am just going to give up. I am not that kind of person. I am not going to give up. I am never going to settle and I know I can beat Ronda Rousey. She is not invincible. There are plenty of holes in her game. I am excited to be the first person to go out there and beat her and be the champion and take the belt back from her.”
