Forrest also tweeted about rape being the new missionary. Dana called him and Forrest basically talked his way out of it, then went to some rape crisis centers and volunteered. Torres made his tweet and got fired, so he could have some resentment towards Forrest.

I remember when Twitter was first gaining popularity, Miguel was on every twitter list for must follows due to insightful and amusing tweets. Not much he says anymore is insightful or amusing...

The funny thing about Torres is that he got fired for making a rape joke, then after he got rehired he made another one.
Hard to feel sympathy for a guy who won't learn his lesson...
I thought Torres said they cut him based on his fighting ability, not for his tweets. 
And it sounds like instead of owning up to his mistakes he's trying to justify them by pointing out others mistakes.

More so than that, if you are more valuable to a company you get more leeway on the mistakes you can make. It's pretty simple. For example the Patriots are less likely to cut Tom Brady if he gets a dui than 5th string wide receiver.

He's actually right. The UFC can make more money off of Forrest, it's as simple as that. If some random guy like Chad Mendes made some of the tweets Forrest has made, he'd be cut.

I'm all for a good rape joke but have some common sense. First, Miguel said his rape joke AFTER Forrest got in trouble for his. So knowing that Forest had to deal with that and do his sensitivity training or whatever the fuck he had to do and then saying a rape joke and expecting nothing is just retarded. Should he have been fired for it? Probably not but IMO he played with fire and got burned.
Second, like others have said, an anal sex joke does not equal a rape joke so I'm not sure what Torres is getting at with that.
Third, on the topic of rape (or even other sensitive issues) you (you=controversial sport barely out of its infancy) dont want to attract the wrong attention, i.e. rape prevention groups, anti-racism groups, LGBT or anyone else. Its always a bigger headache than its worth and if you're going to have people that are under contracts with you saying things on social media (which unfortunately masks the tone of what is said and dumbasses take things literally) like rape jokes its never going to turn out well. Even if they're tweeting something they saw on a tv show.
Torres and every other UFC figther should have taken notice when Forest had his rape joke incident and used their heads a little. Same thing with Rashad and his Penn State joke. It aint rocket science.
The way we think about free speech doesnt always fit with what it actually is.
