Hype train = derailed.
I do not understand how anyone who actually watches and understands this sport didnt know how this fight was going to end up.
I liked Millers chances on this one but beforehand I didn't feel it was a lock. Then again I only watch the sport, I don't claim to understand it ;)
Oliveira didn't lose because he underestimated Jim, he lost because Jim is the better grappler. That was the grappling version of a dude throwing haymaker after haymaker that clatters off his opponent's arms. It seems like things are going pretty well if you aren't watching closely, but really his opponent is just blocking it all and waiting for his chance to throw a straight down the middle when one comes extra wide. Miller sat there and calmly defended all of Charles' wild sub throws without ever being truly threatened, landed elbows after them, and waited for the time he want just a bit too wild and showed why hitting one real sub is better than trying ten shots in the dark.
At the end of the day, everyone was right -- Oliveira was on another level. Jim was at the level of a black belt with a game tailor-made for adapting to MMA. Charles was at the level of a brown belt.
