This fight has NOT been confirmed in any way but it's a rumor that's being spread rapidly. I've seen it mentioned on here many times as well. Would be interesting at this stage in both of their careers. I personally like Stipes chances and im guessing he'd be a pretty heavy favorite but how do you guys see this fight going down assuming it happens in the near future?
id rather see Stipe vs Mike Russow
That's another name that's being mentioned quite a bit...
I like this one, good stylistic matchup. My money would be on Miocic by having crisper boxing, better wrestling and keeping his chin tucked a bit better.
Faux Cop via KO.
NickBenton93 - Faux Cop via KO.
I agree, and I like the nickname
I think Miocic is technically better everywhere. I know mma math doesn't really work, but I think a guy Cheick Kongo could take down would get taken down at will by Miocic
Stipe takes this with utter ease.
I remember the Mittrione bandwagon and glad it got derailed. Everyone was hopping on it but failed to realize he hadnt faced any decent fighters. An extremely slow telegraphed Morecraft was landing punches on him

Same
i just wanna see miocic fight... anyone... soon!!
Bad matchup for Meathead
Would be an interesting matchup
Acidic - Stipe takes this with utter ease.

I do too. Met him once in Richmond Indiana at my gym and thought he was a tool
Meathead's last fight was a huge disappointment.
Miocic.
I remember being surprised that Stipe was considfered too young in his career to be on the heavyweight TUF.. then they had guys with zero fights on the show... This would be vindication. Though I still like Gonzaga for Stipe next. I don't see the point in wasting time.
I like Stipe, but Phil De Fries was tagging him with ease. I think Meathead would be able to put him away.

De Fries just surprised him when he came out winging shots like that. De Fries was known almost exclusively as a grappler, so he just caught Stipe off guard.
If you use that logic than you would have had to assume that Belfort should have lit Anderson Silva up since Chael was able to tag Anderson with ease in their fight. I've heard the same nonsense in regards to the Overeem-Werdum fight where people were completely writing off Alistair's striking abiltiy based on that weird bout where Werdum flopped to his back every time Reem tried to strike back. You don't disregard someone's entire body of work by one odd fight where a guy did something unexpected.
It doesn't work that way, Mitrione is a completely different fighter. Matt likes to strike so Stipe won't be shocked if he comes after him.

Word for word

I see your logic too Bob and would not be surprised if he was given a former contender for his 4th fight but I feel the UFC is wisely looking to brig Stipe along slowly and let him improve as well as build up a following. No doubt he already has the skills to be a top tier hw but hes still going to get better with each fight which is scary. He's the best young hw prospect to come in to the UFC in a long long time IMO and I'm betting joe silva feels the same way.

And Im betting him being the Naafs Hw champ might be why you feel so strongly about stipe? Don't get me wrong he's got a lot of talent but anyone higher then Russow or Meathead would derail his hype train really dam quick IMO
