Frank Mir is a former UFC heavyweight champion, but now facing a four fight losing streaks knows that every fight from here on out could be his last:

"I haven't fought the easiest of opponents, they didn't want to cooperate," he joked. "The strongest factor, fighting Junior dos Santos, and Cormier; fighting top levels guy night after night, you can show up at your best and still not come out on top."

And when he steps back into the Octagon in just a few short months, Mir will be facing another fighter who hasn't had the best of luck inside the cage, either, as Silva has dropped four of his last seven UFC bouts.

Despite his recent track record, Mir knows "Bigfoot" is no light task, as he labels the massive Brazilian a well-rounded fighter with no true weakness. And though Mir has no plans on retiring anytime soon, he knows his next bout could be a crushing blow to his career.

"I think they all are (do or die). Yeah, I think I have to come out with a very significant performance."

Damn 4 in a row.

Gonzaga or Struve would have been a good fight for him. He needs to get is confidence back imo. Big Foot is also desperate and will be a very tough test.

Frank Mir caused ferguson Phone Post 3.0

Fighters say "do or die" all the time. Then they lose and still don't retire.
Frank is a really great guy, but if he loses I hope he hangs up the gloves for his sake. The heavyweight division is not a healthy place to continually be losing fights. Phone Post 3.0

To be fair if he takes anymore punishment he could end up dying quicker than he thinks. Phone Post 3.0

Don't mind me some Mir, although I feel silva gonna be hungry and will GnP his face into dust Phone Post 3.0

I think this will look like the Arlovski fight. Hopefully that sets up mir v Arlovski down the line. Phone Post 3.0

Always loved Mir. (A fan of his and Herbs since Silvia--him for breaking the arm and Herb for being able to notice) Especially Nog I and II. Hope he gets the W.

Hate this fights vs Bigfoot, he should be fighting Schuab Phone Post 3.0

Frank Mir has been fighting a murderers row.

Joe Silva should have thrown him an easier fight than this. Bigfoot is going to kill him.

hope mir woops his arse

Only explanation is they want him to retire. This is a terrible fight for Mir. This is the same Bigfoot that battered Fedor for three rounds. This fight retires Mir and sadly he is trading future health for continual fights.

Tough fight. I'm rooting for Mir every time out. I really hope he pulls this one off.

I like Mir but i like when he loses more.. Phone Post 3.0

I really hope that Akuma breaks Silva's arm.

He's a smart guy, I'd hope he would weigh up his future after this fight.
He fought the best the UFC had to offer for over a decade and had some incredible wins.
He has nothing left to prove.

I would really like to see him retire and move into a commentary position. He's very articulate and would bring a wealth of knowledge to a broadcast. Phone Post 3.0
