He will also continue his doctor-prescribed testosterone replacement therapy. Mir said he regularly does blood work and was told his low testosterone levels posed a health risk. Saying the decision was more about his personal health than his fight career, Mir said he is planning to continue the treatment for the foreseeable future.
"As far as performance in the gym I couldn't tell you the difference," he said. "But as far as the areas of my health where I was starting to have issues, I was depressed -- as far as that goes, that gets too personal -- but I probably will always stay on this, the years of weight cutting have taken their toll, the constant dehydrating makes the body lose all that testoserone, thats medical science fact."
Orcus Knows MMA Better Than Goku - So trt is the optimal antidepressant? Mmhmmm. Oh yeah. Has nothing to do with mma. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
When the depression is caused by low test levels yes.
Chaz Johnson - Yeah low test is directly related to major depression and suicidal thoughts. Also what he says about in the gym is true. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
low test can cause depression, but i disagree about not feeling it in the gym....you see/feel that pretty much immediately.
if he wants to use it and can do so legally-fine. but he doesn't need to tip-toe around and act like it's for "health reasons" only....
I cut weight more in freshman wrestling than this guy has his whole career. I know he cant exactly tell the media he roided but comr on, that hs ti be tye most rediculous excuse in the boom.
What about the "medical science fact" of prolonged steroid use causing low test?
In addition to never having to cut weight, he was on the shelf for a few years after his motorcycle accident.
These guys make it sound like doing MMA just burns out your testicles. Funny how no other weight cutting sport has nearly this same epidemic of low test. Just retire if MMA is that damaging to your organs. All these guys seem to blame the "intense" training. Why continue if it is truly screwing up the functioning of your testicles? If something was going to cause you to lose your balls, wouldn't you stop? Unless of course that truly wasn't the cause...
If we're truly worried about the fighter's health, then we should force these low test guys to retire as opposed to subjecting them to this harmful training and weight cutting.
superCalo - Look I am not one to complain, I think the job done here is fine, however when my favourite Cuban hW mixed martial artist is misquoted I get a bit agitated, underground blog made a entry :
I was depressed -- as far as that goes, that gets too personal -- but I probably will always stay on this, the years of weight cutting have taken their toll, the constant dehydrating makes the body lose all that testoserone, thats medical science fact."
However when I link to the actual article Frank Mirs statement is:
"As far as performance in the gym I couldn't tell you the difference," he said. "But as far as the areas of my health where I was starting to have issues -- as far as that goes, that gets too personal -- but I probably will always stay on this."
No mention of being depressed, no mention of weight cutting ? Is underground blog making up statements about Frank being depressed, about medical science fact ?
What is going on here
Lol. Pretty sure u r the one that inserted the depressed language. Did ugblog fuck up again by using u as a source?

Great catch, Calo. Unless MMAFighting.com edited the article, Underground Blog has some explaining to do.
