Thats pretty much my point.
Body shots....How do they work?
Joe Rogan mentioned at the end of the broacast about Heavyweight fighters carrying too much weight and how he believes this to be a detriment once their weight exceeds 230lbs. Rogan mentioned Frank Mir in particular. It was weird that Rogan mentioned that because was telling my wife that I believe that Frank Mir was too large and needs to trim down. That may help his conditioning a bit. Frank comes in weighing near the heavyweight limit. Maybe trimming down to around 235lbs-240lbs might help.
seemed like Frank put all of his effort into that inial takedown and was gassed/gave up afte he wasn't successful.
I also think Frank should trim down and tone up. He'd be more elusive and maybe his takedowns would improve due to the new explosiveness. He's carrying too much extra mass. He doesn't need to worry about the huge wrestlers like Brock who cut down from a thousand pounds anymore. Lol
He only put on the bulk to be able to go muscle with muscle against the big HWs. I say trim down, tone up and fight around 240lbs-250lbs of lean, quick twitch muscle.
His cardio has never been all that good.
Mir never had a good gas tank. He never will. Anybody who didn't think Mir would be fighting with his mouth open by the end of the first hasn't been paying attention.

Barnett was 250, had a broken hand and was running after Cormier a week ago at the 25 minute mark..
I didnt believe the hype that Mir was in 5 round shape. He came in fatter than he has for any of his last 5 or 6 fights. He looked sloppy and uncoordinated. I think Mir needs to get some discipline with his diet and stay around 230 lbs. Also he should train with some other UFC HW's not named Roy Nelson.
Mir's gas tank didn't do him in last night it was his chin. The guy is a holy terror on the floor but I've never seen a fighter with such a suspect beard. Goes all the way back to the Freeman fight, touch him on the jaw and the guy's on queer street every single time.
FETT_Lay'n'PrayNINJA -Soup and Beer -FETT_Lay'n'PrayNINJA -Soup and Beer -I don't have a strong position on the Soleimani hit. But weren't there many here claiming Iran isn't going to do shit?
Yep. Almost all the die hard Trumpers.
well part of the problem here is we immediately had everyone circle the wagons for a left vs right standoff on whether we should have killed Soleimani. It makes it difficult for those of us trying to analyse the reprecussions and potential outcomes when everyone was either ""MERICA! FUCK YEA" or "ORANGE MAN BAD". (that's not a slam against you btw).
Oh I know the problem with this site for sure.
Doesn't change that the overwhelming majority of hard core Trumpers here have spent days reeeeing that there is no chance Iran does shit but maybe a proxy terrorist attack.
They didn't do shit. They symbolically lobbed a few missiles and killed not a single American. They talk big; pretend to be tough; and lie about what their willing to do.
You're constantly wrong. It's amazing how you never learn.
yeah Mir has never had a good gas tank..i knew once he couldnt finish that first takedown that he was fucked..that seemed to take a big chunk of gas out of him tbh..
ranier wolfcastle - he went 3 rounds beating up roy no problem
God this Roy Nelson chatter.
I have nothing against him and he's really tough but he shouldn't be in the UFC.
Prindle vs Nelson would interest me. Nelson vs any top ten guy does not.
mir has bad instincts on his feet which put him in trouble far more than his speed or conditioning. overeem is one of the slowest moving heavyweights out there and would have used actual skills to make it a good fight (still mourning the loss of that fight)
