Frank Mir believes he was on the wrong end of a decision in his fight with Andrei Arlovski and is hopeful for a rematch, this time for five rounds:

Arlovski defeated Mir in a very close decision that could have easily gone the other direction after both fighters accepted the co-main event fight just about a month out from the September card.

Mir's head coach Ricky Lundell tells "UFC Tonight" that they have already expressed to the UFC their desire for a five-round rematch with at least eight weeks to prepare for the fight this time.

Mir accepted the fight with Arlovski less than two weeks removed from his first-round knockout over Todd Duffee, which was his second knockout finish in 2015.

Unfortunately, Mir was flat for a big part of the fight with Arlovski although many feel he still got the job done to earn a decision win. The judges disagreed and gave Arlovski the win instead and now Mir wants another shot with a little more notice to prepare this time.

Mir won that Fight!! Phone Post 3.0

"Arlovski's manager Malki Kawa, who is also Mir's manager"

Well that's gotta be kinda awkward.

Looked like Mir gassed in well under a round and he wants a 5 round fight? I was excited for that fight, but it was a major stinker. Unless Mir comes in way better shape, I have no interest.

MDubz - Lol they barley had a gas tank to get through the first fight. Phone Post 3.0

Mir was playing possum...waiting for the 4th round to strike.
...because...you know....he is the devil.

Mir won, but I want to make sure he makes it to round 5 without taking an H.

Why are they pushing this fight in the slightest? Did all the hws get told there will be a werdum/Cain lll regardless of the rematch outcome? Phone Post 3.0

No sir, I don't like it. Phone Post 3.0

I understand where he's coming from, but I'd prefer different opponents for both

All Frank needs is another 2 rounds of smiling to win the judges over.

To the layman in the 1st fight it looked like Frank was just standing there, gassed out and pretending not to be by dazzling everyone with his winning smile.

WRONG!!! He was scoring points and had arlovski on the ropes. You don't actually have to fight to win a fight you nerds.

Personally i dont think anyone should havve to watch this rematch. Terrible fight. Mir fought exactly how he did when he fought the shell of Crocop that stepped up on 2 weeks notice. the only difference is he threw a shot that connected in that fight, which still didnt remove the stink that fight left from my nostrils.

if its not going to be a meaningful fight, make it a entertaining fight, a rematch anticipating more of the same would be neither. To headline a card with it would be a joke.

If Cro Cop wins they should match him with Mir.
Although I see Cro Cop whippin' that ass and sending him into retirement.

5 rounds with the Mir we saw last time? The fight will probably be like Gonzaga vs Kevin Jordan, only 5 rounds of flat feeting, and maybe a lucky/gassed out 1 punch K.O at the very end. Phone Post 3.0

Im down for it.. 5 rounds will guarantee a finish and I bet both will want to prove something in the rematch and someone will get knocked out.. Phone Post 3.0

Why does anyone want a rematch of such a boring fight? neither have progressed nor are on there way up the latter for a title shot, nor was it a significant fight in ufc history other then for how inherently awful it was.

we should just stop talking about these terrible terrible rematches now before someone catches wind of this thread over at the UFCs batcave.

at no point did they look like they were close to finishing that fight in any way. they could have fought for 9 hours and still not finished that fight other then an opponent conceding due to pure exhaustion

I thought Mir won the fight. But it was close enough to where I don't scream robbery. I can see how the judges made their call (except for the one who had it 30-27 -- that was nuts).

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, but I also would like to see Mir fight Rothwell or Stipe

I'm in the minority but I thought AA won easily. Smiling doesn't win you fights, especially when you're getting hit and rarely hitting the other guy.

If I recall correctly AA out landed Mir in total and significant strikes. Also, he stuffed all but one of Mir's takedown attempts. Lackluster fight, yes but AA clearly won.
