I'm pretty sure that was an illegal soccer kick that ended that fight ?
If Akiyama had followed up his own KD with soccer kicks the result would probably have been the opposite..
that post fight lecture was pretty gay
also i think Kid ended his fight with soccer kicks
His knees and hands were off the mat when the kick landed, so it was legal. Though JUST barely.
The post fight lecture would have resulted in Misaki swallowing that microphone if I was Akiyama. No doubt about it.

I was thinking the same thing, butit probly would have if Misaki hadn't just broken his face.
Anyway, its Akiyama so he got what he had coming to him.

who cares Misaki had him fucked
someone posted a perfect hd paused screencap of the kick..it was legit, barely legit but legit nonetheless. i dont know if misaki knew the kick was legal, since it was barely legal but im not sure he cared.
not any more than Misaki was 'fucked' a few minutes earlier. If Aki had followed up with stomps, the result would have probably been the reverse.
They should bring back stomps anyway.. but officially
"who cares Misaki had him fucked"
how MONUMENTALLY SAD is it that people are discussing whether it was an illegal soccer kick at the "new" Pride???????????????
The unified Rules and the UFC have fucking ruined EVERYTHING!
Barely legal yes, but still legal.
btw i think aki has "done his time" for the Oil of Olay affair.. he was suspended for a good bit
there is a screencap in the orignal up all night watching thread...i dont know how to use the search function or i would link the pic
Misaki actually had one hand on the mat when he was kicked.

(blue name please)
Just depends what their definition of "on the ground" is. Most organizations say that a fighter is "on the ground" when he has anything other than his feet touching the mat. Their rule could have been different, or it could be that it happened so fast they couldn't tell.

What is the UFC's def of a grounded opponent?
Hell yeah, it was illegal after all.
lol they rip off Pride and don't even keep the best part of it. I was disappointed that M-1 didn't try and make a unique brand.

the best part were the soccer kicks and not the pageantry and Budo?
