LOL
Agreed
“I heard this place has mixology drinks”
I worked in the service industry for almost 20 years. I owned a bar/restaurant, did consulting, and worked behind a bar for years.
99.9% of self proclaimed mixologist are just douchebags and hipsters. There are a few people in this world who can rightfully say they’re mixologist. They have a true passion and knowledge of spirits and flavors. But they are very few and far between.
I was a bartender. I can make a good drink and know some tricks of the trade. But I was a bartender.
Even as a manager and bartender I always was frustrated with the egos of some bartenders. They’re 30+ in the service Industry. Shut the fuck up and clean something. You’re not cool or important

I like the cut of your jib.
does that mean they infuse drinks with kale and avocados and shit?
Chimonos Revenge - does that mean they infuse drinks with kale and avocados and shit?
They don’t use straight kale... it’s called a kale reduction. Have some class
Trust -What do you call a person serving drinks to mixologists?
A boretender
What do you call people in the service industry?
Factory workers without the benifits.
There are serious bartenders.
OP is a dumbass.
Being a chef or a bartender/mixologist is one of those things somewhat intelligent underachievers like to do and think requires more skill and knowledge than it does.

It’s not as easy as it looks. But it’s not rocket surgery either.
Working a busy 35 seat bar at a busy restaurant takes “skill”. Creating menus and running a kitchen takes “skill” (and being crazy as fuck). But it’s not as hard as most of the people who do thinks it is either.
Being an electrician takes “skill”. (Which I am now). But my 16 year old son can wire a house from beginning to end.
All these jobs are not rocket surgery or heart science. But they’re all harder than people think in ways you wouldn’t know until you do it.
Back to the thread topic. Mixology is a silly term.
Mix whiskey with ice cubes, please

Yup.
as a manager and bartender I wholeheartedly agree. You ain’t a fucking scientist bro.
Now do some dishes....

i remember some guy on here posting about what a high level job real bar-tending is - “Making sure your glass is chilled, making sure your glass is spotlessly clean, getting just the right amount of ice, garnish…”
yeah, that’s all perfectly standard; i would expect that of any bar anywhere tbh

People who take menial work too seriously for 800!
In before Jon Taffer shows up and fires every last one of you!
David@accu - In before Jon Taffer shows up and fires every last one of you!
I did his job for real.
Im not saying he doesn’t know the business. But that show is fake as fuck

You obviously embrace failure. If you don’t do it Taffer’s way, it’s wrong. He says so every episode.
Yeah I know the show is fake. All of those shows are pretty fake. However it’s always funny to see him go into someone elses bar and throw shit around like he owns the place.
