MJ should be tested similarly to that of TRT?

With the diaz situation arriving, it makes me think...why not test for the marijuana 'metabolites' like they do for TRT...

What I mean by that is, for TRT, as long as you are prescribed it by a doctor, and you stay within the legal limits, it is allowed for use for MMA fighters.

Nick is prescribed a medical card for marijuana for his ADHD, and smokes weed instead of taking prescription pills that contain amphetamines in them (i believe that is what cesar stated in the primetime episode).

For folks that are prescribed a medical card for marijuana, it should be deemed legal so long as the marijuana 'metabolites' are in a low, and acceptable range, showing that the user wasn't high the night, day, or week (w/e the AC finds acceptable) of the fight.

A fighter can get prescribed TRT for low testosterone levels, and some can use it legitimately and test w/in the legal range...
Why not a fighter with social disorders/ADHD that is given a medical card, be allowed to pass a piss test w/ an 'acceptable' marijuana metabolite range?

What you guys think.

Weed makes black folks look at white women, that's enough evidence of it's evil nature to strictly prohibit it's use all over the world.

Join the army and kill some brown people you lazy stoners.

Ban this man, mods.

I think TheTakeover has it right. I don't know a lot about the laws fro the medical cards, but I know the Federal government doesn't recognize any of that stuff at all.

But isn't the athletic commission a state institution? Couldn't they work under the medical marijuana laws of their state?

I do find it kind of twisted though that a guy can't smoke a joint for his anxiety yet dudes can take hormone replacement in order to extend the length of their career beyond the age where their body can keep up naturally producing testosterone.

One thing I'm not clear on with the TRT, are they 'replacing' it up to a normal level for your age, or a normal level for a young athlete in their prime.

A guy like Hendo who's openly said he uses it, is his testosterone boosted to a level considered normal for an athlete in his 40s, or does the regulation allow replacing it to a normal level for a younger athlete? Or is there not that much fluctuation between 20s and 40s? I'm assuming there is. If a guy in his 40s has the testestosterone levels of a guy in his 20s, how can that not be cheating?

In any case, shitty situation. I like Nick and wanted him to win, would've been happy to see a rematch. Not being squeaky clean going into the biggest fight of your career was just a dumb move.

If anyone knows that it's a banned substance, it's him.

I think it's a little ridiculous to test for weed. With that said though, i can understand it in a couple of ways being a former stoner myself.

When i would roll stoned i would really get in a zone it seemed like. Like i was neo in the matrix seeing every move ahead of time and countering perfectly. This applied to video games also haha.

Then the fact that it is technically an illegal drug by federal law anyways.

lol at the Athletic Commissions enabling Nick, not gonna happen

And that has nothing to do with him being a 500 UFC fighter

You also aren't going to get an exemption because there are other things you could take such as paxil for social anxiety disorder or tramadol for pain. You don't have to use pot.

iirc melvin and or diego tested + for cocaine. pots the same deal...

Ban TRT from the sport, no exceptions.

And stop testing for weed, it's ridiculous.

Ever NOT want to eat a Cheeto?

You may have low THC.

See your doctor for more information and possible treatments.
