MMA Going Mainstream, good?

Hey all,

Today I had three friends call me cause they know Ive been following
MMA since the beginning. One of them is a boxing fan who always
thought MMA was "too brutal", one other is a sports fan who thought
UFC was like WWE, the other is a woman who never watches sports. All
3 are watching tonight and seem to be really into it.

I've always been preaching about MMA but nobody would ever watch
for various reasons and now, those days are over. Its mainstream
obviously.

I feel uneasy about this. I feel as if my little secret is now out,
something special isnt as special any more.

And with all this new interest, will come major money, and the
watering down of MMA will begin. Fighter holdouts for more money,
corruption, more commercials and advertising getting in the way of
actual fights and many more things will pop up to weaken it.

I guess I just have to get into Bumfights, I figure its got 15 years until it
too hits the mainstream.

F' You KKM !!!!!

Not to mention the evolution of fighters. At some point we will have many GSP/FEDOR type fighters. There are kids training wrestling/bjj/stand up from early ages now.

MMA in 10-15 years is going to be NUTS.

I see your points. I think there will be benefits, but there will also be
negative effects. After all, we are talking about money now.

"Hey all,

Sorry, MMA's beginning wasn't The Ultimate Fighter! Later noob!

How many of these kids starting at an early age will get burned out before they are old enough to fight?

What a stupid fucking post.
