Interesting that Tito still thinks he can be a contender in this day and age. I really don't see how. It's quite obvious that the level of athlete competing in MMA now has risen. Now more than ever it is important to have a well rounded game. One dimensional fighters seem to be falling to the more well rounded athletes. Those who improve their shortcomings (such as Serra and Karo) succeed, whereas those that do not (Randleman) fail.
Tito's striking is sub pas, we haven't seen much of his jiu-jitsu, and his wrestling skills seem to have deteriorated. How in the world can he expect to compete at the top level anymore?

It'll be interesting to see how Tito's career will pan out in the next couple years.
How ironic would it be for Tito's (arguably) biggest feud be against Ken Shamrock, and then get passed by the sport b/c he didn't broaden his training horizons, a la Ken Shamrock...

Tito is a great athlete, but nowadays there are many more great athletes in the sport than back when Tito was dominant. And he basically still is a one trick pony: if he can't take his opponent down, there's no plan B. You could say the same about Randy, but Couture is better at that game, and also more comfortable trading on his feet for a while.
His only losses in modern MMA time are to Chuck and Randy, two styles that he matches up horribly against. His style also matches up very well against Shogun, Wanderlei and Rampage.
Yeah, hes done. He cant sell a fight. MMA passed him by.

Tito has shown abseloutely nothing to let us beleive he has progresses in the last few years, he is not that much different than the guy who lost to Frank...he has changed a little but very little....I guess we can all argue about this but his next 2 or 3 fights are going to be proof.
