MMA References in The Killing on AMC

The lead detective calls her husband, asks 'what are you doing?' and he says 'watching MMA' and you can hear the commentating.

Then in a moment of pure awesomeness, the camera pans to a wall with grafitti and the biggest piece on the wall says DATSIK

Great show so far, and I think the fiancee mentions MMA a couple other times.

Waiting for the last one to air so I can watch em all together (theres 3?)

3? I thought it was a whole season. DAMN only 3?

Edit : According to wikipedia there will be 13 episodes.

What's the premise of the show?

I saw the Datsik too, but I'm thinking it's for the techno guy. Phone Post

Yeah 3. The first 2 were bundled as 1 and then there was a new one last Sunday. Loving it. It's not paced like an American TV show, but the ratings aren't bad.

Any show with DATSIK is a show I support.

Mit - What's the premise of the show?

teen girl gets killed and the investigation into her death. Everyone looks like a suspect so far. Based on a Danish show.

Is it anything like Twin Peaks? I heard there were some similarites..

90% chance Datsik himself tagged that wall.

Datsik breaks thru walls - he doesn't tag em.

It is similiar in that they are basically doing one murder for one season like Twin Peaks. But it's not the strange David Lynch world, it's much more grounded. The show feels very real, very well done. The characters are not the typical hollywood cookie cutter ones and the story so far definitely keeps you guessing.

No one is especially attractive either which is good for a change of pace. The chick from Kalifornia/True Blood is even hagged up

Cool looking forward to it...
