Hojak - Randy Couture was in a 6 way dance for the weight class and in 2000 a 20 year old minnesota olympic redshirt named Garret Lowney came out of no where and made the olympic team taking broze in sydney. Brock Lesnar.

If I'm reading this right, an olympic-level wrestler that edged Randy out of a spot on a team had to sit out of collegiate wrestling because he didn't make the starting line-up that Brock Lesnar was on at the University of Minnesota.

Indeed, that is interesting.

Greco is a completely different beast than folkstyle.

Also, Lowney was wrestling at 211 in greco, and heavyweight in college while the heavyweight limit in NCAA is 275. Having to wrestle guys who considerably outweigh you, while adding in leg attacks when your specialty is upper body positioning/throws, makes a world of difference.

its just showing the difference between 211 pound wrestlers vs 285 pound wrestlers.
