Anyone here own a Maverick 88? Thinking of picking one up for the old man. Pretty much a stripped down 500. For $200-300 it seems like a great price point.

MEMEME. I have a 20 and really like it.
My wife has one, I have the Mossberg 500, very little difference between the two. It’s a great shotgun at the price point.
There was a thread on this recently. The maverick passed the 1000 round torture test. You’re good to go.

I saw one at walmart for $198.
I paid 160 used a few years ago. No issues.
The best $200 shotgun around imo. All the other $200 shotguns like Charles Daly and Citadel are Turkish-made hot garbage.

Turkey has some nice shotguns.
I’ve had one under my bed for about 10 years now.
I got it and a couple boxes of 00 buckshot for less than $200 out the door when I bought it.
It’s a great shotgun for the money.

Mav 88 is good for a pump.
