1. Lyoto Machida - After the gift decision against Shogun, Machida definitely appears to be the most vulnerable UFC champ.
2. Brock Lesnar - Having only 5 fights makes him the least experienced UFC champ. This combined with recent health problems creates a big ?
3. GSP - He looks unstoppable right now but he's lost before at 170 when he wasn't supposed to.
4. BJ Penn - If he stays focused nobody will beat BJ at 155 for a long time.
5. Anderson Silva - Least beatable champ. Looks unstoppable at 185 (and possibly 205)
Agreed.
EnderinAK - I think at their own weight classes that BJ is least beatable. Anderson is scary good but I see some of the powerful wrestlers giving him fits. His takedown defense isn't as good as Penn's. (Granted Anderson's standup is more explosive) both have amazing chins and have got to be thought as the two toughest to beat. GSP could honeslty be considered the most dominant but the fluke loss seems a lot more likely with him (unless you go back to Anderson's Pride days).
You make a lot of good points. I didn't really think the subs from Pride were relevant in Silva's UFC career. I feel like he really tightened up his sub game.
bhealthy - wrong. anderson is VERY beatable if he faces marquart
He already did. Second fight will be a little longer.
Good thread despite what Johnny Athletic Club is saying up there.
I got:
1. Brock (I dont think he will defend his belt again with Carwin and a bigger Mir out there) considering that he will be coming off of his medical problems.
2. Lyoto. However, I dont think he will let Shogun implement his game plan twice.
3. GSP. His striking is made better by his takedown threat. Someone will emerge that can defend his takedowns while having superior standup. Who?
4. Anderson--I could see him getting decisioned by a rassler or caught by a M.T. striker. I actually agree with Belcher when he says he is a bad matchup for Anderson. Anderson is 2 levels above as a fighter, but it'd be similar to how Anderson didn't look dazzling against Cote. A guy with a great chin, who hits hard, that has the technical ability to stay out of trouble is a tough fight for him.
5. BJ. Maynard is BJs only threat, and I dont know how threatening that is.
does everyone forget that before shogun, machida never lost a fucking round in the ufc...one bad fight, all of the sudden this guy is vulnerable??? machida has fought some quality competition..shogun had a perfect gameplan and won that fight, i don't see it happening again
brock can be beat especially with some of the heavy handed hw's in the ufc. i don't see bj, gsp, or anderson losing for a long time given the contenders alone right now.
this is mma though and anyone can be beat at any time...so yeah....nevermind
scarfacedave -bhealthy - wrong. anderson is VERY beatable if he faces marquart
He already did. Second fight will be a little longer.
The second fight will be shorter if Marquardt thinks his new aggression will help him against Silva.
I'd like to see Thales Leites back in there after he gets a couple more fights...His striking looked much improved. He might be able to get inside and take Anderson down, rather than but flopping and hoping Anderson will follow him.
bhealthy - wrong. anderson is VERY beatable if he faces marquart
Except he already made marquardt look silly
scarface dave=correct!

So everyone is supposed to count GSP's loss to Serra, but forget all of Silvas losses?
"4. Anderson hasnt looked impressive in his last 2 title defenses and theres lots of top guys at 185 which he hasnt already beat."
Outside of Vitor, please tell me.
- Lyoto.. After what many people believed to be a loss, he is going to be looking to end his next fight. That and the thought that the Shogun fight probably took away much of his confidence could make him vulnerable. Not saying he will get a loss, but given the current champs he is one of the most vulnerable given the situation.
2. Lesnar.. Just purely off the fact that he is still new to the sport and his sickness. Although when he can start training again I would expect that he is going to want to come back better than ever and make a statement. Win or lose I wouldn't want to be his first opponent after this..
3. BJ has looked very good at 155, however he seems way to obsessed with GSP. That could help him, or hurt him in the long run. There are a few good matchups outside the UFC as well..
4. Anderson while extremely dominant still has a potential to have problems if someone gets him to the ground as history has shown. I doubt anyone will beat him any time soon, but I don't think it would be out of the question.
5. GSP... I just don't see him getting a loss anytime soon. As long as he stays focused and does not take his position for granted again he will more than likely hold the belt for the foreseeable future. Every time I think someone is going to give him a bit of trouble he proves me wrong!

I stopped reading after this.
I want what you're smoking, because it must be some GOOD shit.
GSP, BJ and A. Silva.
I do not see anyone taking BJ or GsP.
However, I would like to see Marquadt vs. Silva.
I don't know if Marquadt can take him but I think it would be a great fight.
I would not use the first fight as a guide on how the second fight would turn out.
Penn is the most obvious answer. He was already beaten "to the death" in 2009.
No brainer...
im gonna ttt this thread when machida smashes his next opponent, reguardless of who it is, so we can all see these guys calling him vulnerable that will be once again swinging from his nuts.....it WILL happen
I would say Lesnar, Machida, Penn, Silva, and GSP in order from most likely to be beaten to least likely.
Machida probably but only because of what Shogun did to him in their last fight.
I actually think if Machida gets past Shogun again, he'll be more impressive because people will think Shogun "exposed" him. When really, Shogun has a skills set that nobody else in the UFC 205ers currently have...with the possible future exception of Jon Jones.
