Most surprising Career fall?

another golden egg

I want to say kid yamamoto. But injuries played a big part so even though it's somewhat understandable it's hard watching him lose now when you think of how dominant he used to be. Phone Post

Huerta. Dude had a great roll in the UFC, one win away from a title shot...

Leaves, goes to smaller promotions and has a terrible ride. I don't even know when he's fighting anymore, just log on here each day and then I see him getting his head kicked off.

Also, he's still quite young so that's even more surprising. Phone Post

Joe daddy. Never been the same since he was destroyed by bj Phone Post

Filho and Kang surprised me. They each have had a lot to deal with - chemical dependency and the loss of a loved one, respectively.

Nino Schembri?

Bones Jones once he goes to heavyweight

Rick Story... Honestly thought I was looking at the answer to GSP and the next champ a few fights ago. Phone Post

MacGowan -  As difficult as it is for me to say it, Crocop's UFC career was quite a shocking disappointment. Phone Post

NarlyPersianDude - LOL at the ignorant op and the inaccurate perspective. Who the fuck would call Fedor's career a fail, he lost 3 fights, his entire career, he already had a decade long run as not just top heavy, but p4p number 1. When Michael Jordan came back with the Wizards and could not even win playoff series, no one called his career a fail, he already did it, and you can take away great deeds.

The question by the op, is okay, but putting Fedor up as an answer, just shows alarming ignorance. FoSho

Vemola.

Was throat slashing at opponents and shit beating them till he came to the UFC and hasn't really been at all as effective since and dropped 2 weight classes.

People are naming former champions because he asked about the biggest career fall, not fail. Phone Post

Chuck.

I said Rampage would beat him again, but I did not think his career would go downhill so rapidly.

The shocking thing about Fedor's loss is that it was to a grappler! If he lost via getting KO, due to his sloppy punching style, would make perfect sense.

itswhitty - A lot of people seem to be confusing the word "fall" for "fail" -- the OP refers to the latter.

Anyway, I'd throw Sokoudjou's name in the hat. He never really had a dominant period, so he might actually be closer to fail than fall, but damn... It seemed like his win over Rogerio might have been a fluke, but when he took out Arona it looked like he might have been the real deal. He still has occasional flashes of brilliance even in his losses, and it seems like he has the physical tools it takes to be a better fighter, but he just folds too easily. Maybe he surged too high too fast, or maybe his head just wasn't quite right. Either way, it's too bad.

FAIL.
