I don't buy he's not popular enough. Most people know about Mousasi. The idea of "casual fans" being completely ignorant of all but the top one or two stars is just wrong.
The truth is, the UFC wants to push just one or two stars, and Mousasi has not been designated as one of them. People know who he is and they want to see him fight, the UFC just isn't giving him that chance.
The ufc should just have a very clearly defined popularity rankings scheme since they don't care whatsoever about merit.

now, to add to WMEs terrible management of the UFC i predict they will start doing this to more fighters with single fights left on their contract after the recent trend of fighting out contracts. they bought the company with that being a pretty minimal concern but since have given up a couple of their fighters due to poor negotiation which has lead others to realize that what WME has on offer is not what they want and are just leaving. it seems like a slow process but its not, they paid 4 billion dollars and are at the level of a full scale mutiny within a year. no ones walking the plank but you can gaurentee beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are absolutely kicking themselves for purchasing the ufc thinking that they could run it this way.
He will easily thrash Carvalo or Halsey or Grove or whoever the hell has the Bellator belt when he gets there. Go up and fight Davis and he could be Bellators first consecutive 2 weight champ.

A Russian Lost In The Pine Barrens -Dick Niaz -He is in such a bad spot. Too dangerous for any top contender to want to fight, but not a big enough name or salesman for the UFC to cater to. He deserves better. The Silvia fight would have been incredible.

Hes a beast in the cage but you gotta get people amped up to watch you fight.
I actually love fighter like that. coming in to fight very relaxed, than staying aloof and compose in the fight and very methodical.
