moving from 205 to 185

hey guys need some help im 6'3'' inches tall around 10% body fat 210 lbs walk around i made 191 lbs one time it made me very weak but i did it in a very short time anyhelp at all would be great time is not issue this time.also want to get ripped up without getting bigger any workout advice total body i want to use no supplements please list reps and sets please ill be taking notes thank you

Diet (and do it slowly)....I'd also suggest fighting a few times at catch weights, say 195, 195, 190, 190 - so your body gets used to cutting. Work your way up to 2 gallons of water per day......so when you get ready to start cutting, your body won't fight you.

The rule of thumb we use here - is usually 10% of body weight in water (IF YOU HAD TO CUT IT and still stay safe). That being said, you should diet down (over 6-8 weeks) to about 200lbs...and walk around about that (if you want to feel good after cutting).

Chris Price (who routinely cut from 215 to make 185, but missed at the last UFC, doing it his way) has been doing it this way for some time. Davion Peterson, another one of our 185ers, walks around about 202 and he's probably 7-8% bodyfat and never has a problem cutting.

Past cutting, body chemistry, genetics obviously always play a role as well. We use a method here too, where we weigh in before practice and after, to see how much weight our guys cut (h20) during practice to factor in as well. And how much weight a guy floats over night. Guys who are cutting 7-8 per practice and 3-4 overnight, obviously walk around heavier than guys who are cutting 2-3 and floating 1-2.

Scott, I'm in the same boat as Ron, 205 er wanting to get to 185. I am 6-2" and as far as body fat the only method I have used to check it is a cheap 50 dollar at home fat scale you stand on, I have always heard they are not very accurate but it says I am 18% bodyfat. I walk around at 205-207, but usually have to watch when doing the extra cardio a few weeks out from fight time I tend to drop to around 199 and have to up my food intake a bit????? Sorry don't mean to steal Ron's thread but sounded like some good advice here to share.
Thanx all ya I also fight amateur so I don't know how much is safe to cut when I have to be on the scale 3 hours before fight time???
