I did that same thing to my friend when we sparred on Halloween night after Pride, minus the KO.
I grabbed his kick, got him hopping, then launched a kick to his other leg.
He was open high but I kicked him low because we were only messing around a little after the show.
Breaking off of the clinch is a great time to strike because people think they're moving out of range.
Peter Aerts is a master at striking out of a clinch and has KO'd countless victims that way!
