 Fighters lend their image to companies all of the time. Many of them depend on endorsements to supplement their fight purses. However, when  a company uses a fighters image to endorse their products without his permission, they could find themselves in a lot of trouble.



During last night’s presentation of WEC 41,the sports nutrition company MUSCLEPHARM did just that, running  an ad featuring images of UFC Heavyweight Shane Carwin, without the fighter's permission.

I was thinking that same thing!! I figured it was a deal helped cut by the UFC because they are gonna push Carwin.

NOPE they had no right to use his name, likeness or the UFC's trademark. Total fuck up. They do have relationships with Cowboy, Rashad and a lot of other great fighters I am uncertain as to why they would use a fighter that does not use their product. Our lawyers and Zuffa's legal team are all over this.

What a bunch of idiots. Why would you ever think that would be ok. Did't Zuffa look at the spots before they ran it on the WEC show?, or did VS ok the spot?
