I just started a BJJ program in Richmond's far west end. It's a traditional martial arts school (karate) looking to add a BJJ program, complete with Swain mats... and a location far enough from everyone else teaching in the RVA area so as not to step on any toes or mess with anyone's business.
My schedule works around the TMA students: 12 noon til 2 PM Wednesdays and Saturdays, and 7:45 to 9:45 on Mondays and Fridays. I may be able to tweak it as my student base grows. Here's the school's website. I'm excited to finally be able to teach full-time (more or less).
I'm planning a grand opening on Saturday, March 4th. Forum members are welcome. Here's the best part- there's a Brazilian churrascaria (all-you-can-eat steakhouse) right next door to the school. We can roll from 12 til 3 PM, go right next door for Brazilian BBQ, then watch the UFC at someone's house (not mine, not cable-ready).
Thanks, guys. Please stop by to train sometime. Although I am a BJJ Revolution affiliate, I don't practice voodoo BJJ politics. Everyone is welcome to train, as long as you leave your ego at the door and come to have fun.
