At the end of August I fought at DEEP 49, the weekend before I returned to Canada from a year teaching, training and training in Korea. The fight has a bit of a story... here it is...
Three weeks before I was supposed to fight, DEEP changed the opponent on me. No big deal, it happens. At the same time they also said that they would no longer be paying flights for me or my corner (which was originally agreed to). Whatever. At this point I hadn't competed in MMA for over a year and just wanted to fight. I booked my flight on my own. A few days before the fight they let me know that my weightclass was being changed from 61 kg. to 67 kg. Holy shit. Making 61 kg was going to be a breeze as I was walking around at about 64 (that's what I eventualy weighed in at). Despite repeated requests for information I was also given almost no info about weigh in time or location, where I was staying, how to get to the venue etc. I basically left a day before the fight knowing that I was fighting some undefeated guy from Tokyo somewhere in Tokyo for DEEP and needed to weigh in at some point that day. I'm sure part of the problem was that I was getting original info from Japanese translated into Korean and then finally English. Talk about a language barrier.
Everything ended up working out as far as finding the locations, times and other info I needed. Antonio Carvalho hooked me up with a great cornerman anda few other contacts along the way. Without him and them I probably would have been sunk.
I didn't win the fight and wasn't happy with parts of the performance but it was a hell of an experience and a great time.
Edit *** Here's the entire event*** my fight is starts at about 9:45 of the video

Was it Deep that Kang fought for in Korea?
No, that was an organization called MARS I think. They're no longer around.
Thanks for the vid post also. I fail at interwebs, as the kids say.
