Here's the vid from the last fight. I've been analyzing the vid so that I can work on some stuff for the next one, but in the mean time, here's the vid.
LOL @ me slipping. the friggin canvas was slippery
congrats on a deserved and obvious victory. Where is this? Your opponent
looked scared of you or scared in general. Was it his first fight? Not to
take anything from you, you went in and did your thing. Respect.
nice transition eddie!
Congrats!
"congrats on a deserved and obvious victory. Where is this? Your opponent looked scared of you or scared in general. Was it his first fight?"
The story behind this guy was that he picked my name from the massmma rankings and decided he wanted to fight me. He called me out on the internet and started talking trash about me even before I knew he wanted to fight.
Anyways, I fought him in April of this year, was winning the fight, took a knee to the forehead that opened up a cut. The fight was still going on, but I got full mount, throwing punches, and we started to skate out of the ring. In the middle of the reset, the doctor wanted to check my cut because I had blood all over my face, and he said it was too deep and I had to take the loss on paper.
This last fight just took place a few weeks ago and it was the rematch to find out who would have won the fight.
He was listed at 4-0 when we first fought which was why I took the fight. I guess the dude won a few ammy fights that never got reported in the database.
"1) whoever talked throughout the entire video, don't sit him next to the guy shooting, because his voice and comments are annoying. Plus you can't hear him when you're in the ring anyways."
LOL...That's my cousin. Here's more like my brother because when his dad died, my father became both of our dads. But yeah, he's not a polished commentator, LOL.
"2) your opponent rarely kept his hands up, why did you not utilize a jab first to open up combinations?"
I usually do, but I wanted to really dig in to his legs with leg kicks...Anyone who's ever experienced them knows why, lol.
My trainers have been all over me about that and not getting too confident during a fight. I won, but we were "back to the drawing board" the monday after the fight.
"3) the front kicks seemed to be excessive from the start, did you sense something in your opponent to utilize them so early?"
I just kind of go all out when I fight. I don't like to be too timid. My camp and I are working on sharpening some other tools while still maintaining the "finishing" mentality.
thanks Haulport.
=)
nice fight
^I agree. My trainers yelled at me about that. I was confident coming in to the fight and it showed with me dropping my hands.
I'm correcting that for the future.
Good stuff Eddie :)
werd.
Thanks EM.
=)
"Size 'em up, B!!" lol
Tranquilo...suave, suave...
Nice work, son...that's how we do!
Oh yeah...my comment; Too much stuntin'. All BI next time.
Awesome job, Eddie. I'm impressed. Nice explosive front kicks. I just ate (a LOT) and you got me almost throwing up here picturing those kicks hittin' me in the gut right now. When and where was this event?
Lol this master tang fucker has to be an old troll account.
Props Bro, props.
"When and where was this event?"
This was Combat Zone 23 that took place on August 25th, 2007.
It was a rematch with the guy who I lost via cut stoppage on my head in the first outing. I have that vid somewhere as well. It's much shorter.
Your offense based fighting style A+. A little more defense is likely in your best interest. Chicks dig scars and all, but you can't put those Dominican looks at risk like that.
While the fight was short your gas tank looked full if it had gone longer.
The front kicks seemed somewhat telegraphed though I suspect that you already know that and would not do it against a fighter you thought was more dangerous. It was pretty obvious that you knew you had the fight won before you got in the ring.
Glad to see you get the win. I like that you probably had 3 or 4 subs in your arsenal that he was giving you and you picked the most aesthetically pleasing. As a fan I love when guys go for stuff instead of playing it safe.
I suspect the cage suits you more than a ring as your top control looks very good and I would think that as aggressively as you fight you could get a guy against the cage on the ground and beat the snot out of him.
I also think that your clinch game would lend itself to take-downs against the cage.
Great job!
