my new single leg counter

This is a high school wrestling match in PA. Check out the counter that Kolat makes to a single leg. I've never seen anything quite like it. The clip is long, but a great wrestling match, though I realized how much I don't know about scholastic wrestling rules when I watched it.

One of the guys I wrestled with in college did it in a tournament my freshman year. The problem with the way Kolat did it is that he put his neck in serious danger. When my teammate did it, he landed on his hands and knees - much safer than landing on your head.

PS: For those who can's see the video, it's a back flip to escape the single.

I think that's right. It's been a long time, but I think the opponent of my college teammate did not have sunk as deep and that's what allowed my teammate to have a little more room. I also agree that it's very risky not only from a health perspective, but from the perspective of it actually working. In other words, it looks cool in the rare case where it works.

He does it at 5:50 or so, and they show multiple slow-mo replays after that.

thats not bad stuff. =)
