I haven't heard either, I don't even know anyone who fought...
Richie Taylor (I think) came into the Academy to get ready for a fight on that card....
TTT for someone who knows!
Rich Taylor beat Alex Rutter (Team Crazy) in the fight of the night. Unan decision w/ one point deducted from Rutter for illegal knees. His opponent was standing, took a knee, put his hand down and took two more. It just occurred to me that I should have a talk with Brock since the ref should actually tell the fighter "his hand is down" when it is obvious that the other fighter can't see the third point touching.

I gave my tickets away. The only quote I got from the guy I gave my tickets to was...
"Only one or two fights were watchable, a lot of decent wrestling, most of the fighters seemed to be amateurs"
How did LeVesseur look? I saw on my ticket stub that he was fighting. Was it a pro or amateur bout? Was he matched relatively tough? By relatively, I mean the guy weighed the same as Marcus and didn't have a beer belly.
Amateur MMA= 1000x more exciting than Pro Boxing IMO.

I will post the result of what I know, but I cant put to many names with faces and was busy helping people warm up.
Alicia Mena vs Malika Hawkins = Mena. I dont know how she won but I know it was quick, maybe within a minute.
BJ Lacy vs Nick Theilly = This was a good brawl. Theilly stood and traded for a while and caught BJ with a few good shots, but nothing devastating. Nick got BJ down in round one but was reversed and spend the last moments of RD1 with BJ mounted reigning punches. More of the same in Rd 2 with BJ gaining more momentum and dominating pace. Rd 3 BJ got mount again and started throwing down for a ref stoppage.
Rick Tayler vs Justin Hinder = Great fight, back and forth and basically three rounds of two guys standing in front of each other trying to knock each other our. They both came back into the dressing room and looked like shit, and if I remember Rick had a badly broken or disclocated finger but fought through it. They beat the hell out of each other. Rick won clearly with some big slams. Some serious punishment dished out in that fight to both fighters.
Jesse Lennox vs Travis McCollough = This was a good fight. Lennox at 5'9 had a tall order (no pun intended) with Travis who was 6'4. Both traded punches with IMO Lennox getting the better of the exchanges. Lennox got Travis down and mounted him reigning down shots from the side but Travis did a good job of tieing up and holding on to avoid the big elbows and punches. I think Lennox got his back in the first round as well but cant remember. Lennox finished out the round attempting a guillotine he couldnt sink before the bell. In the second round Lennox bullied him around the cage more, landed a couple good strikes, which didnt come easy against such a large opponent. Lennox got him down in the second round and took his back, eventually started landing huge shots to the side of the head. Travis attempted a strange ankle lock from the bottom and Lennox started dropping huge shots to the head. Travis tapped out to strikes in Rd 2.
Jason Hoyer vs Tom Grub = Grubb. Tom came out pretty calm and was the aggresser against Hoyer immediately. Tom started slow with some nice leg kicks against Hoyer, and a few combinations of punches mixed here and there. Tom took Hoyer down and attempted some ground and pound with a few punches and elbows. I think the ref stood up the fight with Tom pursuing again. Tom through a superman punch that landed and Hoyer immediately shot for the takedown and got Tom to the ground. Tom reversed Hoyer and started grounding and spent the rest of the first round on top throwing down strikes.
In Rd 2 Tom again was the aggresser, very calm and picking his shots, with a couple leg kicks and some good combos. Hoyer through a BIG right hand that caught Tom on the top of the fight but Tom rolled slightly with the punch and continued to pursue. Tom through a good switch kick and landed a high kick right to the face of Hoyer, who apparently has a granite chin because he didnt go down.
Rd 3 Tom clinched up and slammed Hoyer, passed into side control and then slipped a leg over the arm while controlling the other arm for the crucifix ala Matt Hughes. Unable to defend strikes Hoyer took some big punches and then eventually Tom started dropping elbows. After Hoyer could not defend himself and appeared to be out or going out Larson stopped the fight.
The last fight pissed me off. It was a good back and forth battle, with one guy winning with some decent G&P, he got a little sloppy and the guy on the bottom catches him in an armbar and starts extending it. Guy on top postures up to pull his arm out but cant and ends up locking it in tighter. Whats his response to get out of this situation? Raise up his leg while trying to pull out of the armbar and STOMPING his opponent right in the jaw. His opponent immediately screamed. Keep in mind the guys neck was bent and angled strangely on the floor while trying to turn out the armbar. Larson stopped the fight and the other fighter was unable to continue. I assume it was a DQ, but it was the most diliberate dirty shit I have seen. He didnt want to tap and lose the fight, so he stomped a dude in the jaw/neck and lost the fight anyways.
