apart from the horrendous gi incident he was doing really well with vanderlai, the strikes were pretty even and he didn't take major damage up until that point.
His striking was crisp but a little over enthusiastic and untimely.
IMO the gi totally messed up his day, i can't see how he could watch the yosh match and come to the conclusion that the gi was vanderlai's weakness. Yosh only used it to stall on the bottom and unless nakamura planned to be lying on his back i can't see how he would find it useful.
Props to Nakamura for fighting well, but no thumbs up for the dumb gi move. Even after all that g+p nakamura still wasn't ko'd. The kid is tough and still has a really bright future.
On his post fight interview, he said he had a 'secret technique' but Silva's defense was too good so he never got to use it. I'm sure we won't be seeing much of the sleeveless gi anytime soon.
Funny part is taht the only part of Yoshidas gi that was mildly effective against silva were the sleeves, he used them to tie up his arms from guard so he wouldn't pound him.
I did see a moment where Nak grabbed his gi on the bottom corner as if to go for a gi choke.
He would have lost regardless. Silva TKO'd him after the Gi was already thrown. I'm tired of people acting like he lost because of it and it was some "cheap shot". Get over it.
I only saw the GIF, but that was not a cheap shot by Silva. He took
advantage of an opening, but Silva threw his punches after Nak took off
the gi. If Sliva were being cheap he could have thrown punches when Nak
had his hands down and the gi halfway off. However, I think taking off
the gi distracted Nak long enough that combined with Silva's strikes is
what culminated in the K.O. Haven't seen the whole fight so can't say
whether or not he would have lost regardless. But props to Silva for the
KO.
Dude, fuck that. It was cheap. The nanosecond the gi was off Silva was on him like a fat white woman on a retired NBA player. (I would like to be nominated for most tasteless UG statement of the year for that, BTW)
I heard about the gi incident before I watched the fight..not being a huge Silva fan I was believing the worst about him. After seeing the fight I was actually surprised at how long it took Wand to react...he looked kind of shocked..he had a "what the hell is he doing??" look on his face..by the time he clued in the gi was off and Nakamura's hands partially blocked the first shot..
I didn't think it was as even as DangerMouse thought but ya, Nak did ok
nak did great. he could have gone to a draw.
Jebus, i post it 9 places and people are still asking for it.
