Freak accident. Potentially this could happen in any sport as easy as mma. Basketball even. Elbow to the temple or accidentally bumping your head on the floor from a trip etc. If it was a risk in MMA, you'd expect to hear about it a lot more prevalently.

i think i saw a soccer vid the other day of a guy getting elbowed in the temple and i think it killed him
it showed other players cryin, it wasnt small time soccer. it looked like the big leagues (whatever that is for soccer)

I got hit 7 times after I was out in my last fight. Im still alive, for the most part. Although there was a few injuries. My head was right were the cage and that mat meet, so my head took all of the force.

I knew a kid in High School who got punched fell backward hit his head on the sidewalk and died, shit happens, it can happen in any sport, any situation given the right set of circumstances.
