Nate Diaz Explains why Smoking Weed is a Benefit for Fighters

I don’t think weed helps his cardio any but I do believe it helps him conserve energy.

I believe the bit about him still being able to go after the fight, even in worse shape is because of shit like actually staying calm during whole fights, avoiding adrenaline dumps and crashes, etc. It will let you go the distance without ever getting too amped up. It’s probably why the Diaz bros can still hold a conversation while they’re fighting someone lol.

Another downside though, in my experience, is it makes you a bit less concerned with being hit. That dgaf feeling can be dangerous too lol.

In France at, didn’t want to bring anything over via plane and get detained, but i found a Hemp store over here that sold shit and had a tonne of bud, but I went for some gummies
This was about 50 bucks , and I didn’t even know it was legal over here, did some research and its a

I wonder if it’s the weed that makes him become unfocused in fights, turn his back, start his antics instead of fighting. It’s been getting worse his last few. I don’t find it ‘badass’ it makes me cringe and I suspect it is going to catch up with him. Those two are so damn talented- I can’t help but think without the weed they would have had much more ‘productive’ careers in terms of wins/titles. They’ve accomplished the huge list of things they have without seemingly being 1000% committed to training at the highest levels.

Probably, imo.

The “don’t give a fucks” lol. It definitely hurts motivation and will take away the desperation for the win. It could explain things like being way down near the end of a fight, then putting the opponent out on his feet and then just standing there laughing at him instead of chasing the W too.

Also, idk if it’s age or amount of time abusing THC (or head trauma lol) but it’s effects/benefits worsened over time for me. When I was younger, weed usually helped my performance in things like sparring, video games, etc. in all the ways I described but now it doesn’t and makes me worse at everything…but idc cause I’m high lol.

So it could also be why Diaz’s shit has gotten worse later in his career/life I guess. :man_shrugging:

It isn’t really about winning tho. It’s about growing your brand. Nick n Nate aren’t wealthy cause they win. Nates 11-11 in his last 22 mma fights. Nick hasn’t won a fight in 13 1/2 years.
Yet they are huge names in 2024 because the character they’ve developed. Turning their back and acting like they don’t give a shit is why they make big money.
