I’ve never been impressed with Nate’s footwork. He’s like Deontay Wilder. But with wilder, you have to worry about power. Extreme power. So in a way his clumsiness helps him. Because of the fear of power and it not coming at you in a conventional manner.
But with Nate, it’s all one twos with little to no pop and then atrocious footwork and angles. This is not a knock on him. If he’d have studied and trained boxing instead of all the time he put into BJJ then he’d be as good a boxer as he is a submission artist. But he didn’t. He’s yet another grappler that Paul is making a name off of. And Nate isn’t even taking this fight serious. This is gonna be easy money for Paul.
For the record, I think if Nate and Paul really got into it, Nate takes his lunch money. But in a boxing match, I think Nate gets TKOd. Paul looks so much faster and stronger than Nate. It’s gonna be bad
fundamentally Nate’s boxing sucks. What makes him dangerous to MMA guys is his cardio and length. He knows how to keep you at the end of his punches and once you’re tired mentally and physically those punches that didn’t bother you early on start to add up late.
Sure and then the threat on the ground is real. But in boxing, none of that shit is gonna matter. Jake has beaten better strikers already than Nate. 50 year old Anderson is more dangerous than this version of Diaz. I hate this fight. I hope Nate is smart with the money he makes from this ass whipping. Because he’s about to get embarrassed.
I don’t think Nate respects Paul enough to prepare properly and I think Jake is better than a lot of people are willing to concede
I agree. And that sucks. How many rounds is this? If it’s 6-8, Jake is gonna win the first half of the fight pretty easily. It’s gonna be up to Nate to try and tire him early so he can win the back half of the fight and hope fully a round early.
Like try to win the first or second round, then be heavy for a few rounds and tire Jake out, then turn it back up in the later half. But one thing Jake isn’t is stupid. He might act stupid or say stupid shit but as a business man and as a boxer, he puts in the time and effort and he doesn’t underestimate his opponents. He’s NEVER been outclassed.
