Achieve360Points.com - 1,000 People Online Event
02.05.07 @ 03:15 pm  ( LINK )
Due to the sheer amount of e-mails we have received requesting an attempt, we have decided to host an official "1,000 People Online" Event for NBA Live 07. We are giving everyone five day's notice, which should be plenty of time to get this game in your hot little hands. First, the details to the event, then details on what you can do to help us out:

Achievement: Online with 1,000 people (100 pts)

Game: NBA Live 07

Date & Time:
Feburary 10th at 5:00 to 6:00 pm (Pacific)
Feburary 10th at 6:00 to 7:00 pm (Mountain)
Feburary 10th at 7:00 to 8:00 pm (Central)
Feburary 10th at 8:00 to 9:00 pm (Eastern)
Feburary 11th at 1:00 to 2:00 am (United Kingdom)
Feburary 11th at 10:00 to 11:00 am (Japan)

Rules: Simple, get online and stay online for the duration of the event.

We have decided to keep this event alive for a full hour to help as many people as possible get this achievement. The best way to do this is to just boot the game up and play for the full amount of time. If you are going to be busy during this time, simply listen to the ESPN radio instead. If you choose to do that, you could even mute / turn off your TV during the attempt just so long as you are online. Even if you get the achievement before the time is over, please continue to stay online for the full amount of time. Remember, you only earned the achievement because of the help of at least 999 other gamers. Share the love!

This could possibly be your only chance to get this elusive achievement, so do not miss it. In order to increase your chances at getting this, not to mention everyone elses, do what you can to let people know about this event. We don't care if you e-mail, instant message, call, page, or even text them from your phone. If someone you know has a gamertag, get them involved! This opportunity is too good to pass up.

We are encouraging every major gaming news site to link to this news entry. No gimmicks, we just want to see anyone with a full 1,000 for NBA Live 07. Do your duty by posting this to every forum you can think of as well. We aren't kidding about getting the largest amount of people online at once. We currently receive over 16,000 unique users a day to the site, so we know that even if just 7% of our users participate, we can earn this achievement as a community. Sure, we could stay in-house and only have our members earn the achievement, but why not include more than just our personal friends? Let's crash those EA servers together. :)

Spread the word because the clock is ticking!

TF?

fuck basketball

What do you mean TF?

don't know really.

Thought i'd write something and seeing as it was at the end of the work day it was brainless.

What i meant to say was

I find it suprising that the achievement scores (which basically shows you how much of a nerd you really are) are now being used to market products.
Saying that i have even caught myself playing games in a manner i normally wouldn't just to get an achievement.

I mean these achievements really do mean nothing to anyone apart from other gamers who might use it to decide whether they will play with you.

The web and Live are fickle places.

Agrred, I have gotton a bit out of hand lately with the Gamer Score thing.  I've even rented games I don't like just to get some easy points.  I'm just motivated by that kind of shit and I'm not sure why.

Anyway I just read off of G4-TV that there is an Old Spice contest regarding Gamer Scores on the 360 so hopefully I can get rewarded for my superior nerdiness.

Old Spice Rewards Gamers

Old Spice not only makes hysterical commericals with Bruce Cambell, they're also sponsoring a contest based on Gamerscores on Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 is teaming up with Old Spice to bring the first Rewards Challenge to Xbox Live. Gamers will be charged with increasing their gamerscore by 1,500 between February 12 and April 12, 2007. That’s 60 days to bring your overall gamerscore up by 1,500 for the chance to earn a bounty of rewards.

In order to participate, you need to have a valid Windows Live ID with your Xbox LIVE gamercard linked, be a legal resident of the 50 United States and District of Columbia (expect future challenges to be global in scope) and at least thirteen years-old.  Click the cut for the prize breakdown.

Reward Package Qualifications

Level 1 (Gamers who have an annual gamerscore between 0-4,999 at time of entry): Game Picture, Dashboard theme, Contra for Xbox LIVE Arcade

Level 2 (5,000-9,999 annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 100 Microsoft Points and a contest T-shirt

Level 3 (10,000+ annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 200 Microsoft Points, contest T-shirt and Fusion Frenzy 2

In addition, Old Spice will give Level 1 and 2 the gift of experience by upgrading their Rewards Level for 2007.

Log on to www.xbox.com/rewards on February 12 to sign up for participation. Reward quantities are limited so gamers who reach the set goal will be awarded on a first come, first served basis only.
