Neck Injury Help!

Loaf has been suffering with herniated discs in his neck for several years now and is at the end of his rope! I have tried Physio, Chiro, Decompression therapy, and everything under the sun. I am at the point now where not only can I not work but I can't get my son out of his crib or even put on my shoes. Has anyone had a similar injury? I am beginning to explore surgery as an option, does anyone have any advice on specialists in the GTA? Loaf thanks you for any help!

I also just moved into a new house and lost my can opener and my new watch. If any of you fuckers have them you better give them back or I'll hunt you down.

No particular incident. Just years of abuse.

Damn - I wish knew of a decent surgeon for that type of injury. I have heard that surgery helps alot, but don't know anyone that has had it. I know a couple of doctors so I'll see if I can get a name or two for a good surgeon.

On another note Justin - I have your watch AND your can opener. I will hold them hostage until you return my wayward rashguard. Proof of life for my rashguard will net you photos (dated with a current newspaper) of your items to prove to you that they are unharmed. From there we can negotiate the whens and wheres of the exchange...

Justin, get a hold of Tony....he went through DDD with his neck,he had surgery on it so he can give you some insight on that route.

Someone help the LOAF!

Someone please help Loafinho :(

When you say decompression did you try one of those torture rack machines?

Also have you tried an inversion table at home?

Hey Loaf , Google Dr. Anthony Galea ,former Doctor for the Argos and many Pro and Amateur athletes including myself.and now runs a huge practice in west Toronto.

He is very pro-physical activity instead of the old ( you will never be able to practice your art again )kind of doctor.

I had degenerative disc disease in C3-C4-C5 and discovered it too late therefore needed immediate surgery to repair it. the doctor who performed the surgery said I should never compete or train again. That was in 2000 ,I have to be careful but not train........ whatever and he helped with that.

This is his location, but he is a referal Doctor only you just cant go in there,so you must go to your family doctor and ask him for a referal to see him .

Loaf!

There is a guy named Gringo selling a can opener and a watch on e-bay.

Two suggestions for you Justin.

Get in touch with Shawn Tompkins. If you recall Chris Horodecki had a career-threatening neck injury that forced him out of his fight with Dany Lauzon at the last Affliction show. Randy Couture hooked him up with a specialist who gave him a second opinion to those of the other doctors who wanted him to have surgery. Chris slept in a traction device for a month or so and his neck is now back to 100%.

Another long shot is trying to get the UFC witch doctor to have a go at your neck. Steven Friend is GSP's manager Shari Spencer's husband and has apparently healed a lot of fighters with his alternative medicine.

Good luck man!!

edit

Justin contact Showdown joe ...he will put you in contact with Dr Joe.

Did you try cortisone shots, to shrink the discs?

Same Injury I have suffered with for years.
Horrible pain 24-7 radiating nto my shoulder, strength loss on one side and numbness in my fingertips.
I eventually was referred to a neurologist who told me he was going to cut a whole in my throat and fuse the vertibrae......No Thanks
Physio helped but is expensive.
see if you can get into the sports massage clinic at Sutherland Chan. I think it is $15 a session.
So cheap because they are students working on you but supervised by pro's

Call Dr. Nick Riviera

Sorry to hear about your watch !

Have you tried acupuncture for the pain relief?
