need a new whipping reel--maybe this one...

well, my daiwa baitcaster is finally starting to rattle too much, and i lost a lure today cause it shut too quick. had it since 1992 and the thing was one of the luckiest reels i've ever owned. anybody else use baitcasters? anyway, thinking about replacing it w/ this one:

Does that thing julianne carrots?

no silly it counts people as they enter the gym

I had one of those in kindergarten. sharpens my #2 pencils pretty fast.

LOL

frens, baitcasters are just cooler and better. sadly, they haven't really caught on in hawaii as the tribesmen here prefer to use bamboo and bones to snag fish. game over. lol

I prefer to swim up to them and stick my kakken up their asses. Then, just when they start enjoying themselves boing I spring the inward angled spikes out of my kack and...oh wait, wrong forum.

I use the Abu Garcia Revo ... it is a smooth as silk, but wasnt cheap.

I also have a cheaper Shimano that I like. Not as smoooth as the revo, but about 1/2 the cost.

teej, i was looking at both the shimano and the abu, but i'm worried a little about the salt water type fishing. do you use them both exclusively fresh water? i also looked at a penn baitcaster, and that bad boy is going for almost 400 bux for just the fuggin reel. what you tink?

ps. that's why i thought about the cabela as it's cheap, but no horrible quality as i've liked their other stuff w/ their label.

also, just looked at this abu ambassador, have you used this more conventional shape to spin before? i've always used the style in the op.

I only use the low profile baitcasters...and just fresh water my fren.

Hmm, I heard fresh water is full of the ghey. Is this true?

yeah me too re the low profile, but i wonder if one pictured would work as well?

well, just bought this bad boy. will let you know how it works. i'm gonna get me some fish this weekend.

Nice.... Revo? What kind of rod?

i've got a red shakespeare baitcasting rod, but i might pick up a longer ugly stick for this one. how long would you recommend? (no romo)

I dont know much about surf casting....

It not the lenth so much as the Girth or so I've heard.
