On their FB says the striking coach Cala is Cyborg and KJ Noons coach, but Cala was in Jacksonville teaching class at his gym while KJ was knocking Sam Stout out on live TV tonight?
Anybody know anything about these guys? Are they legit? Have a buddy looking for a place to train down there.

I train at the CTC and yes Coach Cala is very legit!!!! He teaches cardio and MMA, and is a monster on the matts. For BJJ we have Fred Leavy who is a wrecking machine under Andre Galvao. Cris Cyborg was at the gym a few weeks back training prior to her last kickboxing match. We also have Joe Duarte stop in from San Diego (part owner) and train with us from time to time. Feel free to have your friend contact me if he wants to train, or he can swing by the gym. I have trained at nearly every gym in Jacksonville during the last decade, and this gym is not only legit, but the best in North Florida. At $75 a month, you can't get any better training. Our team has had fighters compete in nearly every major organization (UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator, etc.) The people are very friendly and family oriented, and the gym does a good job weeding out meatheads. Cala now lives in Jax along with Fred Leavy since they are trying to build the gym. They both moved here from San Diego and teach at the gym every night. Naturally KJ and Cyborg are still residing in San Diego along with Joe Duarte (part owner)....that's why they couldn't be in KJ's corner during his last fight. However the relationship is still there. I too was skeptical at first before joining because I couldn't figure out why they would come to Jax out of all places? The reason....little gym competition. I stopped by and was so impressed that I somewhat came out of retirement to start training here (I have 3 herniated discs and stopped training for 2 years). I haven't trained at a pro gym of this level since I trained with Tim "Obake" Catalfo who once had a gym here. I figured I can't pass up this level of training offered here in my back yard, even if it has a toll on my body. I hope people find this post helpful. To clear things up....I do not work for the gym. I'm just being honest, and want them to do well.....and stay here in Jacksonville!

Actually, I just passed a new MMA gym in jax beach called ludus martial arts. It looked nice.
