I'm running an MMA school in Phuket Thailand and received an email from Mauricio Pontalti inquiring about a grappling teaching position...

seeking anyone with references...

Below are credentials

MY NAME IS MAURICIO, IM 24 YEARS OLD , FROM RIO DE JANEIRO-BRAZIL I PRACTICE BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU SINCE IM 13 YEARS OLD AND BEFORE I DID JUDO MY WHOLE CHILDHOOD ACTUALLYIM BROWN BELT THE NEXT ONE WILL BE THE BLACK BELT IN A FEW MONTHS. I TRAIN WITH THE FAMILY GRACIE THE OWNER OF THIS STYLE I WAS 4 TIMEDISTRICT CHAMPION, SOUTH BRAZILIAN OPEN CLASS CHAMPION, I FOUGHT THEWORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TWICE.

Has seemed like a good guy...just wanted to see if the name passes the UG's BJJ Community first...don't want an Extreme Couture grappling explosioin ;)

Ray he is legit. He trains with the family Gracie.

Ask him who gave him his black belt. Then contact them to verify.

We have a Judo player in Canberra claiming to be a Renzo BB. The only problem? Renzo's academy have never heard of him.

if you can let me know what par of NZ he is in i will find you some info. but cant say i have heard of him teaching in New Zealand.

Also i am looking to come to train for while in december at your camp, looks really cool
