Hi Everybody, I need help.
I live in Las Vegas and I have been scheduled to fight for a Cancer Awareness card in Cuyahoga Falls, OH in the Main Event against 4-2 Keith Shinn. I have already purchased non-refundable plane tickets and booked a hotel.
A couple of hours ago, the Ohio Athletic Commission denied the matchup between Keith Shinn and I on the grounds that that it would be "non-competitive", meaning I wouldn't be able to hang with him. I may have a terrible record (4-8), but that is from foolishness in 2007 and 2008 when the OAC was happy to approve fights with me on the short side of a mismatch.
I won my last fight one year ago in Ohio by Flying Triangle in :39, in front of the same commissioners. And since then I have been living in Las Vegas training at Tapout Training Center with Shawn Tompkins and Kevin Randleman.
Keith appears from his youtube videos to be a 1 dimensional G&P/Wrestler with zero standup, that would be an excellent match-up for me. But I guess it's out of my hands.
I'm looking for an amateur Heavyweight or Super-Heavyweight to fight me, I suppose preferably with a bad record. If I don't fight, I don't get reimbursed for travel, and I'm screwed.
I weigh about 260 so I would prefer Heavyweight, but I don't have a problem fighting Superheavy no matter what the weight difference.
All of my friends have bought tickets and some have hotel rooms because this fight is 150 miles from my hometown.
If Anyone can help Please!! The promoter has to have a name to the commission by today at 5pm.
If a Mod could sticky this that would be badass!!! It will only be relevant for a day.
Poster with Promoter Contact info.
Keith and I are in the middle.
Call Dannon if you have a heavyweight that wants to be involved in the most exciting fight of the night.
ttt
The problem was I was driving 150 miles from Pennsylvania to all of those fights. I was ALWAYS the "other guy" coming in to fight the hometown boy.
The guys I beat, in most cases, had much better records when I fought them. They, Like me, have gone on to compile bad records since our fight.
And several of my losses are to guys who went on to beat almost everyone they fought. 11-1, 5-1, Ect.
I would think a year of training at a Pro gym like Tapout should count for something too, but I don't know.
I appreciate your input, no hard feelings at all.
I guess I'm just making excuses for my bad record like a pussy. :)
call McCorkle...
Sounds good to me.
TTT for an opponent.
ttt
^idk what that means but i guess it what you do to keep a thread going?
Good luck, homey. Knock someone out and shut the naysayers up. :)
"Sounds good to me" was a response to the post directly above it that said "call McCorkle".
Unless you mean "TTT", In that case you're correct. it means "To The Top"
Kostakio - Good luck, homey. Knock someone out and shut the naysayers up. :)
Thanks Man.
I thought for sure that a Flying Triangle less than a minute into the first round of my last fight would shut the naysayers up???
Maybe they figure it was one of those "accidental" flying triangles, You know, that I closed my eyes, swung and got lucky...lol.
Try and have the promoter contact Jared carle . He's 4-8 also and has a giant blond FU Man Chu. I'd tell the promoter to grease him a few bucks, or everyone who bought tickets Wont come.
That's funny, I usually AM the guy to call in situations like this. :)
That's part of the reason for my record. I took many of my fights on less than 2 weeks notice. A couple of them were on 1 day notice.
Where are the other guys who love to fight?
Mods, Sticky?
We are talking about the main event at "Fight For the Cure: Cancer Awareness Night."
A FIGHTER HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!
I will be fighting 350 Lb Christian Wade(1-0).
Thanks to anybody who tried to help.
It's funny, I can't fight a 4-2 my own size, but I can fight a 1-0 who outweighs me by 90 lbs? :)
Anybody in the area should come down, I'm bringing the fury.
