Ted Welch has discussed with you our most recent developments for our MMA movement and we are excited to have your participation.
Herewith is an overview of our of our plans moving forward to present our United States amateur athletes in Mixed Martial Arts to the World in International competition as preparation for presentation to the General Assembly of International Sports Federations for participation in the World Combat Games and eventual acceptance as an Olympic sport.
we are extremely happy to have you developing an elite team of 8 men and 4 women to compete in the first ever US National MMA tournament in Las Vegas March 20, 21, 22 accompanied by your coaches and 2 officials (a judge and referee) to be nationally certified for the event. Arrival check-in for the event will be Wednesday March 19th. There will be 96 competitors in the three day tournament, comprised of the best athletes from around the USA. The winners of the tournament will represent the United States in the First ever International World Championships to be held the first week of July in Las Vegas during UFC Fan week, when each participating country member of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation will send their top athletes to compete for World recognition. Each team must travel at their own expense and may develop their own sponsors to cover their travel and accommodations.
The UFC has endorsed the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) as the World recognized body to develop the sport of MMA for Olympic recognition. In the United States, the UMMAF is the exclusive body chosen to represent the IMMAF for National development of MMA.
