As some of you know, I had a house fire a couple weeks ago. I am now living in a hotel with access to a mini fridge and a microwave.
With my current setup, I have been eating like crap - mostly eating out a lot more than normal.
Outside of fresh fruit and veggies, what are some suggestions for decent meals?
Not having a full kitchen sucks, and I will be here for at least another month.
Also, everything that was in my house for food prep/cooking is now gone - either getting cleaned or scrapped. Same with some of my outdoor appliances like a grill and smoker.
I am going to find a way to cook a steak and veggies over a grill tomorrow. Not sure how, but I will find a way (yes I know steak isn't the most healthy meal on the planet).
Oatmeal w/berries, nuts and honey for breakfast
Grind your own meat in a food processor and make homemade burgers.
Get a crock pot. Many recipes that require less than six ingredients. Use liners and reduce the amount of dish washing you'll have to do.

I can't believe I forgot about the crock pot - thanks for reminding me!
This isn't a big room, so cooking fish or using something like a foreman grill wouldn't be ideal and/or set off the smoke alarms - I have had enough of that over the past couple weeks. One of my/our first nights out of the house was a cabin, the smoke alarm went off at 2 am. That sucked.
I bought a crockpot. And I cooked this today:

Flat Iron steak over a one-time use grill with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that was cut short because some dipshit decided to pour a ton of soda/pop concentrate into a storm water system - which leads into a protected water area and home to at least one federally threatened species.
I may be cray. There are certain cuts that are good for you, or at least not that bad for you, but I like the fatty/marbled stuff.
