Roy Nelson is excited about his UFC 185 matchup with heavy-hitting Dutch fighter Alistair Overeem to really test his standup, but he just hopes Overeem obliges:

"I hope he comes to fight cause that's what fans want to see. They don't want to see point and run."
Nelson isn't the first fighter to criticize Jackson's fighters for playing it safe.
Once upon a time, UFC president Dana White took aim at Jackson for that very thing when discussing his influence on fighters and the approach they take when strategizing with the famed New Mexico based coach.
"You'll see guys who are traditionally exciting fighters, but when they go to the Greg Jackson camp they become safety first fighters," White said in 2010.
Nelson and White have been at odds with each other at times over the years as well, but this appears to be one subject they can agree on.
"I think the difference with Greg Jackson is it's smarter fighting, where it's safer. I don't want to say unpredictable but just safer so that you have a longer career," Nelson said.
I thought we were over this fallacy that "Greg Jackson breeds boring, safe fighters." I agree with Roy's sentiment but that whole opinion spawned because Dana mentioned it a few times and people just kind of followed it.

There was a chart doing the rounds a while ago looking at finish rate for each camp , only looking at their ufc fighters I think
Jackson's n Tristar had much lower finish rates - and no one was surprised
DaveAP - If i was Reem I sure as fuck wouldnt stand and bang with Nelson. Hope reem wins but hes gota stay away from the nuke right hand
...and left hook, both uppercuts, left jab and the wind from roy's punches that miss. Reem's chin is gone, he needs to keep those hands SUPER high. Love Reem and all but that chin tho...Bas and Henri are dead on about his chin (or lack thereof).
Malvert the Janitor - Roy puts him down with a glancing blow and then finishes. Reem says "he just got caught" and "it happens". Reem calls out Lesnar.

he'd be stupid to try and make it fan friendly honestly. I can't even blame him. YOur not knocking Nelson out and he can body bag you while your trying. why the fuck would he NOT try and gnp him?!
Dumb matchmaking if they were expecting some sort of rock em sock em fight to happen.

What? People knew Jackson made fighters boring long before Dana mentioned it...
