Just sharing the news that I was promoted to brown belt today under my instructor and 2nd degree Carlson Gracie black belt Brian Jones.
That's cool. Does it feel weird to know that black is your next step? Maybe that's an odd question, but I know that would go through my head if I got my brown belt (I'm a 4 stripe blue, so I got some time)
Congrats, Bro
Congratulations :)

Good job OP!
Awesome bro! Great lineage!
Exciting news! Stay healthy on your way to black.
Congrats!

I had the same thought before getting my black belt in judo. I'm sure it will fade with time just as it did before. I'm sure I'm a good few years away from black so I'm just going enjoy the ride.

Amarelo - Exciting news! Stay healthy on your way to black.I'm hoping to. I have a pretty good knee injury right now that I'm getting ready to have a MRI on. I'm hoping it's just a partial tear of something.

Congrats!
Congratulations! :-)
I've trained with Danken for a few years now. He's as legit as they come.
Congrats Danken
Do you care to share how old you are, when you started training, and how often you train?
Morgz -I actually started training in judo and was a Ikkyu (1st degree Brown belt) and had a good knowledge of newaza before I formally started BJJ. I went on and received my shodan in judo in 2013. I moved up to blue belt pretty quick. I spent less than a year as a white belt, 2 years at blue, around 3 at purple. I'm currently 34.
Congrats Danken

danken12 -Thanks that's fantastic. I'm a bit older, and moving at a slower pace. I had no prior experience though. I'm currently 10 and half years in, had my purple belt 5 and half of those. I've some real life stuff limit my mat time though.Morgz -I actually started training in judo and was a Ikkyu (1st degree Brown belt) and had a good knowledge of newaza before I formally started BJJ. I wish I had Judo or wrestling prior. I can always feel the difference when sparring a judo player.
