New father! Help!

How old should I start bully proof with my son?
How old before starting classes?
My only insistence is he learn basic Jiu-jitsu to defend himself. After that, his choice.

Due date is 2 weeks. Phone Post

Should've started few months ago... Make sure that they're still in the womb though (that's what the Brazilians do). Seriously though, my gym has the program and the youngest I've seen is 6 years old, but I don't see any harm in starting sooner. Phone Post

ya it's probably too late now.

He'll never be a world champion if you don't start training him BEFORE he's born.

sorry.

for realz tho, my school starts 'em officially at 4, but i've been playing jiu jitsu with my daughter since she was a baby.

just play.

I agree, you're too late. You should've been training them while they're still in the woumb. Your best bet now is to just throw him in an arm bar right when he pops out.. or gets pulled out if your misses is going the non-natural way.
But seriously, there's these two girl at my gym.. they look like they can't be older than 4 or 5 years old at the most. But they dominate all the little boys in their class hahah, it's hilarious. The takedowns always make me laugh. Especially when they instantly take the back and even sink in their hooks and everything. It's crazy Phone Post

According to my wife, he throws kicks and punches at her bladder.

Nope, she's wrong, those are all skateboarding moves.

My girl(6) has been on the mats before she can crawl, just sitting there playing w her toys, just letting it soak in. We have been wrestling for play when she could crawl, when she is more cognitive she started to pick up names of positions. When she was 4-6 she was ambushing my training partners on the mat, she grew up real comfortable with the contact of jiujitsu. I got her the bullyproof program and we work on it together, she likes the Gracie boys enthusiiastic vibe and all. I have not pushed her at BJJ or martial arts, she just gravitated toward it because it's all around her and she knows it's important to us that she learns to keep her self safe and develops confidence that jiu-uitsu can give. This summer she is starting formal classes under a black belt, pink kimono and all. Then she will loiter around till I am done training, then beach, then home.......perfect .

But just play with him when he starts digging wrestling around, get the set before the academy .

1 week, start by holding them upside dn for a second or 2.

Started Gracie Games around 1.5 years, formal classes at age 3.
