Now we're even after your little comment Friday.
cthlcschlgrl -Why foster? Not sure how anybody could care for a dog and not want to keep it.

I already have dogs.
This way I take one in, get it trained, help it find a home.
It's like being an aunt. They stay with you for a short time and you can spoil them and send them home.
Awesome!!! So jealous you have dogs!

It's the angle, she's only 11 lbs. lol
Foster pup is recovering from leg surgery. She's still frisky! She's only 8.5 lbs though.
She came from a kill shelter in FL. They told my rescue that she had an "old" fracture and that she got along fine. I had her for a couple of hours the first day and went back and told them that it was not an "old" fracture and it was hurting her.
The rescue approved the vet/surgery appts and she was into surgery within a week of being in NoVA. They take good care of their critters. Now I get to play with her for at least 8 weeks until her leg heals and we can find her a home.
How long do you keep them?
Do you have pets of your own? If so, how do they get along? If not, have you considered taking one in?
Babe, you are are really super cool doing shit like this.

We keep them until they are adopted. She probably would have been gone quickly because she's a puppy, but she's going to be around for at least 8 weeks while she heals.
I have dogs. Most of the time they tolerate the fosters. When they don't, we find a new foster for the pup.
