I have started a campaign to raise funds for patenting an idea that I have for an MMA glove design that will prevent eyepokes.
I understand that many of you would like to see the designs but for obvious reasons I cannot do this until the patent is submitted.
I am in contact with a patent lawyer but I am sure the cost is going to be 1000s of dollars, so I hope to catch the attention of Alan Belcher or even Joe Rogan and Dana White so I can pitch the idea. (I am very open to sharing profits with investors and sharing the idea in private)
It is a long shot but my post on Sherdog already hooked me up with 100$ and a patent lawyer contact so I am hoping that UG will do even better :)!

So you have produced a prototype? How are we supposed to believe that it significantly reduces eye pokes?
As a business man and an entrepreneur, this is a horrible pitch for investment. You do not already know the price of a patent lawyer and put $5,000 - $15,000 as the cost. Really? That shows you not only have not contacted one already to get a better amount but that you have not done your homework and that you are just guessing. What do we as investors get back if we placed money with you. You mentioned profit sharing, how much profits for what amount of capitol and what term? Once the glove is patented then what? Licensing or manufacturing? Both has steps and cost money. If somebody truly had a glove that could work I for one would love to invest, but the investment has to be mor then somebody saying "I had a thought, give me your money and ill try something". Just a tip, if you do try to continue this then invest in some nondisclosure agreements so you can actually have a conversation with the people you want to give you cash. 
To rephrase. It is cool you have what could be a good idea, but you are far far far away from legitimately being able to ask for money at this point.
