New Oven Coming Tomorrow!

Picked up a GE Profile Dual Fuel (gas range, electric oven) from GE's discontinued discount site. $998 for an oven that listed for $1600.

I'm pretty stoked.

Congrats, I am getting a new dishwasher and oven in the next month or two.  I want one of the ones with the secondary oven instead of the regular broiler, so I can get rid of my toaster oven and save some counter space.

I think this one has a warming tray on the bottom. Sucks. I need the storage space more.

Honestly, I didn't read the specs very carefully. My oven was broken, and I saw the price on this and had to jump on it.

I just got rid of a bunch of stuff.  It hurts, but I got rid of a big box full of stuff I hadn't even used in a year or more.  Most of it was actually pretty decent/expensive, but it was either redundant or just not used enough to justify the amount of space it was taking up.  Some Calphalon pans, stainless Kitchenaid pans, panini press, shit like that.  Even got rid of the coffee maker.. I've switched to a French press, which fits in the upper cabinet.  I've really been making a conscious effort to reduce clutter and consolidate as much functionality as possible.

That's never fun. How does the cabinet space in your "new" house compare to your old place?

I upgraded homes 4 years ago, but lost like 4 cabinets and 3 drawers.

This new stove thing is funny. I'm afraid to cook on it. I feel like the first meal should be something special. It's just a fucking range!

Yeah, I lost a couple cabinets, but I'm getting new cabinets and countertop installed pretty soon, hence replacing the dishwasher and range.  I knew the house was going to need some updating when I got it, but it's just taken me a while to save up for all of it.  I'm also getting a load bearing wall removed and replacing some of the flooring.  It is going to be a pain in the ass.

Ended up making the Sunday Gravy from The Sopranos cookbook as my first meal on it. Pretty damn good.

If any of my friends on here are looking for GE Appliances, let me know... I might be able to save you a few bucks.

Mine has the "warming tray" too... I just use it for storage.

^ I just might do that.
