does anyone have any experience with the new Sprawl shorts with the groin stretch panel? Is it better than the older version?

No but I did buy the Frank Mir cross trainer and hated them. First I'm a size 31 waist but they don't have odd sizes, so they say go a size smaller. They are way uncomfortable to get into but that's not the thing that bothers me. The slit up the side goes all the way up to my ass. I felt like a gay gladiator wearing them.
Whatever254, please let me know what you think of them when you get your pair.
RodneyPoldrak, I know what you mean dude. I'm an odd size as well and didn't know what to do. I might go UP a size then! hahaha "Gay Gladiator" hahaha funny stuff :p
I didn't want those cross training shorts cause if I get the stretch ones then that should be fine for kicking.
Got em today' I'll try them out tomorrow and will give a review. They look good, no noticeable difference from the original.

As expected, great. First and foremost, I think Sprawl has great customer service and super fast delivery. Major plus.
I trained no-gi and did some kickboxing today. The shorts were great for both. I like the new stretch shorts better than my Mir shorts with the slit as far as freedom of movement when kicking or rolling. They are much better suited to rolling than the Mir shorts, because when I roll with the Mir shorts the slits allow the fronts of the legs to flap, and become handlebars for the opponent's guard passes.
They look the same as the originals, but have much better range of motion. Great product, after many different types of board shorts and vale tudos, I finally found a short I really like and that looks good. And we all know as long as you look good doing it nothing else matters ;)
size-wise how are they? I tried a friend's 34 but they were (I'm a 35 inch I think) fitting so I figured I'd have to go up to a 36. Would they be too big? If you're a mid-size, did you go up or down a size?
All three of my pairs are a little big.

Sprawl shorts run in even waist sizes from 28 - 42 and they run true to size. If you are in-between sizes then we suggest ordering the next size down for a secure fit while grappling. For example if you usually take a size 37 in pants we would suggest a size 36 in Sprawl shorts."
I went down a size and I hate them. They are a little better once you get moving and sweat in them but getting them on sucks.
Thanks for the advice fellas! I figured that I might go up a size instead cause I was having trouble with the size down. They felt like tight spandex shorts that don't stretch! hahaha
