Or not, since these will be overproduced to meet the need from the first series, they won't be worth as much.

prices will be set soo high for these that it won't even be worth buying to sell. Today was the first day I had the balls to look at ebay to see how much boxes were going since I sold 8 of them like 2-3 weeks ago @ 140-150 a pop. Now they are going for almost $180-195 a box??? UGH. I split a hobby case when they were like 800 and then bought a bunch from the UFC store when they were 80 a box. I wish I had invested 10,000 into those cards.
word is that they will have special "ufc poster" inserts... little versions of the ufc posters... kinda cool imo.

TOPPS is producing this set... it's not from Canada man... have faith!
O Pee Chee went out of business years ago though.
85 O Pee Chee had no McGwire, hence worthless

That depends really depends on a lot more than you would think. The print run for Topps Round 1 was never revealed and Topps say they won't release this information. So no one knows how many blue autos, mat cards, etc are released except for the few numbered cards. It depends if Topps includes in huge pulls fans will chase. In baseball cards, products of certain legends numbered low creates buying sprees to get the card. In that case this new set could actually initially be worth more.
I personally think Round 1 cards are way overpriced. Compare them to Donruss Americana or other cards that are numbered. The prices of the limited numbered cards are significantly less on ebay right now then the blue autos of some fighters. You had an initial surge of people who either hadn't collected for a long time or never collected cards before.
I also expect that these cards will be overproduced. Anyone who has been involved in collecting for some time knows that once a company has a viable product they will try to sell as much as possible. When memorabilia/autographed cards started hitting the market in the big 3, they were all the rage. Now the same cards can be had on the same secondary market for a fraction of the price. As the years go by, card compainies are forced to make better and better cards to keep demand at a constant level. Will an autograph on a sticker lose it's demand if the same fighter has a future release with an on card autograph? How about some "Passing the Torch" cards...Maybe real classy back to back dual auto's(GSP/Hughes-Chuck/Page-Randy/Lesnar)come out...How does this effect the round 1 autos of GSP/Page/Randy? Basically what I am saying is that there are a number of really cool collectables coming out of these boxes, but we have to keep in mind the trends of the same card company in the past to help determine the long term value of some of the cards. What the Topps set has done to Americana would actually be a good example if you think about it. You always want more when you can only have a taste and you hardly ever want more when you can always have your full.
The demand for Round 1 is huge, but the only people who can fulfill that need is the black market. Topps made their money. It is the dealers, and fans who are flipping them, who are making the killing.
Topps will probably double or triple production for the 2nd series, and raise prices which they did to each pack by $1, in order for them to make more money.
Anyone who is thinking about mortgaging the house to buy cases of Round 2 thinking it will make them rich is sadly mistaken.
Sucks that so many of us missed the boat on Round 1.
kind of surprized another set is coming out so soon. Suck, cause it will devalue the round 1 set a touch. Not a lot, but a bit.
will definitely pick this one up....missed the boat on the first round.
