DVDs of UFC® 49: Unfinished Business, Ultimate Knockouts 3 hit stores on Dec. 14

 

Ultimate Fighting Championship® Expects To Grab Its Share Of Holiday Sales

 

            LAS VEGAS – The UFC®, the world’s premier mixed martial arts sports association, continues to expand its brand of combat sports with the distribution of two new DVDs Ultimate Knockouts 3 and UFC 49: Unfinished Business starting Dec. 14 at retail outlets nationwide and on its website www.ufc.tv.

            Kerri Kasem, the daughter of radio personality Casey Kasem, hosts Ultimate Knockouts 3 and also serves as the Ultimate Fighting Championship® pre- and post-fight interviewer at UFC pay-per-view events. Kasem also is the host of the E! channel’s Coming Attractions show, which airs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and reports on what is new in movie theaters.

            Ultimate Knockouts 3, with UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock featured on the cover, is the third installment in the Ultimate Knockouts series and features the best UFC knockouts from 2002 and 2003. The 195-minute DVD features Shamrock, Chuck Liddell, Vitor Belfort, Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski and behind the scenes action. It is the follow-up DVD to Ultimate Knockouts 1 & 2, one of the best-selling sports videos of 2003-2004.   

            UFC 49: Unfinished Business features a terrific Light Heavyweight Title bout between Randy Couture and Vitor Belfort and an exhilarating grudge match between top Light Heavyweight contenders Chuck Liddell and Vernon “Tiger” White. The star-studded card features many top rising young mixed martial arts stars, including David Terrell, Yves Edwards, Josh Thomson, Justin Eilers, Karo Parisyan, and Nick Diaz.

            Still knocking out the competition nationwide is the extremely popular UFC 48: Payback!, which features Shamrock’s knockout of Kimo Leopoldo. The DVD hit No. 1 for sports videos sales according to the Nielsen VideoScan Sports NT Chart ratings released on Oct. 17, 2004.

            UFC 49 also follows the success of UFC 47: It’s On!, which features Liddell and Tito Ortiz, and climbed to No. 7 on the chart, and the impressive run of Ultimate Knockouts 1 & 2, a best-selling DVD that has been in the chart’s top ratings for forty-nine consecutive weeks

            The Ultimate Fighterairs on Spike TV in January

            On TV this Jan. 17 watch for the premiere of UFC’s reality show The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. The 15-episode series, which airs Monday nights at 11 p.m., is hosted by top recording artist Willa Ford. The show will follow 16 athletes as they train, workout and live together. The final four fighters will meet in championship matches in a middleweight division and a light-heavyweight division to determine who will win UFC contracts.

            UFC 51: Super Saturday

            The UFC’s next pay-per-view telecast will be UFC 51: Super Saturday LIVE at 10 p.m. EST, Feb. 5, 2005 from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nv. Tickets for the all-star, nine-fight card are now on sale at the Mandalay Bay Box Office (877-632-7400) in Las Vegas, at all Ticketmaster locations, and on the internet at www.ticketmaster.com and www.mandalaybay.com
