Great job guys!
Thanks for putting on these great sanshou events Coach Ross. the more events, the more exposure and opporitunities for fights.
I know it just sounds like self promotion, but each event the fights DO get better it seems... darn, this one rocked, and it's great when Muay Thai and MMA gyms come in, do it for the first time, then come back at the end and say "sign me up for the next one, this event rocks"
pics?
*edit*
just saw them @ uskba
yeah dude, get with da program :)
I just wanted to say that I attended this event and saw some of the worst match ups ive seen in along time. I know with last minute drop outs and such it is extremely hard to put on a show but some of these fights were very mis matched. I understand that some of the fighters were fairly inexperienced but just the overall quality of their techniques was dissapointing. Especially for $20 bucks. I brought two friends who had never seen san da befor and they have no desire to see it again.
laughing my ass off at the trolls.... nice "0 Total Posts"Anyone who was REALLY at the show and doesn't have a major ax to grind knows our shows have great match ups...mismatches? LMFAO, really. Two of the matches were split decisions they were so close.Guys like Donnie Carolei, who've been doing kickkboxing for YEARS talk about how great our shows arego troll someplace else, loser...
by the way, when the DVD comes out, you are really gonna look stupid :)
0 posts doesnt mean that i havnt been around for a long time nor does it mean my opinion is any less valid. I promise you I am not a troll. I also think I was pretty respectfull in my critique, allowing for drop outs and first time fighters. BY the way calling some one a loser for stating thier oppinion just because it hits close to home really isnt the point of this forum. And anyone who does buy that DVD will look alot more stupid than me.
dude, EVERYONE who attends the events thinks they are great, this one had SPECTACULAR matchesJosh Hunter vs Hwasoo Kyung ended up a split decision, it was as technical as any match you can see anywhereChris Cape vs Feliz Mejia had it all, from spectacular kicks, to throws, to a patented San Da scissor takedown, also a split decisionThe women's matches were non stop with punches, kicks, knees and throws, the crowd went wildIan Morgan KO'd his opponent with a fantastic round kick to the head... again, the crowd went wildTim Oconnor gets flored in first round only to come back and KO his opponent by slipping the cross and landing a lights out textbook counter hookDid I mention that Erik Paulson thought the matches were excellent? So, who should the world believe, you and your ZERO POST COUNT and no profile, or the tons of people who for ten years have said it was a great event?Dude, my bet is that you weren't even there, and I dare you to prove otherwise, provide some details...DVD will be available soon, and trust me, it is 10 of the best matches you will EVER see....
The Hunter/kyung fight was probably the best fight both technically and match up wise the whole night. I think Kyung fights out of combined. They really are putting out some good fighters. The womens fights were horrible. JUst because they slugged it out for three rounds does not make it a good fight. I can get that at any tough man contest. As for the crowd going crazy for it, you and I both know that the majority of American crowds just want to see a brawl and they will be howling. Ian is a very talented fighter that shouldnt have been match against that kid who only had three fights, all of which coming in YOUR shows. So you knew his skill level and STILL match him with Ian, a guy who has a "world" title fight coming up, which funny enough is going to be on your show. O'connor looked good, with a really quick round house, but his opponent quit more from fatigue than anything else. Again showing the low skill level of the fighters. As for my zero posts, if I lived on the internet i would have more but some of us have to work and train and cant live through our fighters, but I'll be sure to TTT a buch of threads and get that # up just for you. And by the way be sure to plug the DVD some more so you can screw some more people out of some money

If you are going to harshly criticize a promoter and his event in this manner, we ask that you please post your real name. Stand behind your statements and not the computer screen.
I have attended two of David Ross's (lkfmdc) events, and I would have to say that overall, they are well-run shows. Every show has mismatches. It happens. And, especially in amateurs, it is not uncommon to see fighters lacking in ring skills just slugging it out with one another. Thats why they are amateurs.
If you didn't like the show, thats fine. You may state so. But please remember to stick to the facts and be constructive in your criticisms. I know from personal experience that there are often things happening behind the scenes that people are not privvy to.
Again, a "ZERO POST" guy who won't even post his name talking crap. I dared him to post some details and facts, he can't come up with much. Dude, let's be honest, have you ever fought? Probably not, you just like to hide behind your computer and talk smackAfter saying all the matches had no technique and were mismatches, you are now of course forced to admit the mathes that were close and technical, ie the Hwasoo Kyung vs. Josh Hunter match..BTW, nice trolling trying to give combined a plug, showing your stripes despite yourself, but the fact is that Kyuhn is trained by Rodney Libramonte at Progressive Martial Arts in Queens. The women showed counters, kick catches, knees in the clinch, throws and takedowns. And they stood toe to toe for all three rounds. But you being a "big man" you can talk smack from behind your computer screen.Again, have you fought? You sure to seem to want to rag on Thaddeus Romero, but give the man the respect of the fact that he actually FIGHTS. Dude, you are afraid to even post your name... now with a grand total of 2 total posts. Rmoero asked for the fight. So he got it. Did he get more than he was ready for? Probably. But I love how you try and make everything a conspiracy... did you write the Da Vinci Code as well?Oconnor was in his FIRST MATCH ever against a guy with a record of 1-0. A guy who was good enough to take the first round from Tim, by way of a knockdown. Tim won that fight on a KO from a left hook dude, you can't win cleaner or better than that. But of course you have to criticize NYKK guys, showing your spots again. This 2 post troll is the same guy who tried to tear down our events in the past on another forum and also got smacked down BIG TIME...
KK, I believe that my first post was constructive and to the point, I only wavered from the topic after being called a "troll" and a "loser" by the man you are defending. Again zero posts does not make my oppinion any less valid and I am not troll just someone who doesnt spend all day on the computer. Jokes on me though because now ive been drawn into an internet war for no reason other than stateing my opion on this board. My mistake
It is real simple dude, if you are going to talk, at least post your NAME. Don't you think it's just a little funny that your first post EVER here was one to attack an event? That in all the time since, you still have not posted in any other thread?
Everything you say leads in the same direction, that you are yet again another screen name of the same bitter person who has in the past also posted baseless, factually inaccurate attacks on the events...
Did I mention that Erik Paulson thought the matches were excellent?
So, who should the world believe, you and your sudden appearance and no profile, or the tons of people who for ten years have said it was a great event?
let's examine some facts...
this person joined on 6/7/04, funny that he claims to have "been around" for a long time but only suddenly created an account right after this event's results were posted?
since joining, the only posts he has made are to attack this event..
he's already back tracked on his claims, he's been shown to be incorrect on his claims, and he refuses to name himself...
I was not at the fights but, here's my two cents...
Amateur fights often look sloppy, this is why they are amature - not pro. I have often commented on poor fights and areas of improvement...ask anyone who knows me. It is also very hard to match fights. Especially is a sport with so few competitors to choose from. You got to give folks props for stepping in the ring in the first place - regardless of how clean they look. Anyone who has done it knows. There are many folks out there, as you know, who train their whole life and never step in a ring.
VQ, fine, if you think the show could have been better organized, that's cool...everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you were disappointed, say so...promoters need to know how to make shows better. You don't need to have been a fighter yourself to make a judgement, great fans can make great comments. Just let the forum know where your opinion comes from - what's your traing background, name, etc. You must admit that the fact that your account is a new one is suspicious.

VQ....
I will give you that. I was referring to your later posts. And I should have taken a moment as well to please ask EVERYONE to keep it civil.
Dave (lkfmdc)....
Look, I know how passionate an instructor and promoter you are. I have no problem with the job that you do, but please. Lets keep this civil. I know its hard to NOT be defensive when someone criticizes an event that you've poured your heart and soul into, but take a deep breath and try to take the criticism constructively. His first post really wasn't that bad, 0 post count or not.
Just my $.02
