Just noticed that the last Melbounre NHB event was on 20th May which is over 4 months ago . Is there any news or dates for the next one ?
How often do Spartan and XFC hold events , I thought it would have been more than 2 a year .
The last one was a great event...anyone from Extreme know ?
I flew down just to see this event, I really enjoyed the fights. But I found the Melbourne Crowd quite uneducated in the Ground Game with all the usual gay references references being yelled out, the only fight they seemed to appreciate was the Boxing Match. I would be suprised if they could get even half those that went to go to another event.
Agree that the was some dickheads there , but disagree re the numbers .
I still think there is a big market for MMA in Melbourne. I dont think they will have any trouble pulling in a big crowd again . The matchups would obviously need to be good though.
Even die hard MMA fans would have to admit that the boxing match was pretty entertaining
Have to remember we have had maybe only 3 real MMA shows down here so far, how many have QLD had all up?
Its no different in boxing, I would rather see 2 boxers evenly matched with good skill (to hit and not be hit) most the crowd would rather see 2 big heavyweight or at least 2 guys with less skill standing toe to toe hitting each other with everything but the kitchen sink. Same with MMA i would imagine, you guys with skill would rather see 2 guys playing a really good game and going for submissions while the average person in the crowd what to see a guy like Soa get mount and and throw his huge punches down on his opponent or they would rather see 2 guys kick and punch each other than grapple.
Its like it in most sports i think.
